SEYMOUR DENIES HEAD-BUTTING CHARGERS COACH

Chargers center Nick Hardwick says that Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour head-butted a San Diego coach before last Sunday's game. Seymour says he didn't.

"A coach?" Seymour said on Thursday. "A coach that was out on the field? I mean . . ."

You mean what, Rich? There was an altercation between Seymour and someone not in a Chargers player uniform, someone who intervened when Seymour and a Chargers player were jawing at each other after the two teams took the field for the game. The only question is whether Seymour made contact with the person not in a Chargers uniform.

And we're learning that the interpretation of the unlikely video evidence that someone posted on YouTube and someone else forwarded to us is in the eye of the beholder. John Tomase of the Boston Herald writes that the video "appeared to exonerate" Seymour. Others agree. And others believe that Seymour jammed his facemask, once or twice, into the head of the person not in a Chargers uniform. Our take? We simply can't tell.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, here's the video. The incident begins at about the 2:48 mark.



Seymour insists that he's innocent.

"First of all, it's not true, so I think the facts are the facts," he said. "Secondly, I can't control what others say or think. The only thing I can do is control my actions, the way that I approach the game, the things that I'm able to do throughout the week. For me, that won’t change and I think the people that know me best know that’s something that’s totally bogus."





Funny how every other week something classless is reported about the Pats DL

Really it was BS when Wilfork poked Jacobs in the eye

Or when Wilfork hit JP Losman low on the knee, in turn doing us Bills fans a favor

Was it BS when Burress poked Wilfork in the eye in the preseason? I'm not saying two wrongs make a right, but rather there was some history to that Wilfork poke.

it's kinda weird how leading up to the game it was all igor's trash talk, and people talking about how wilfork's a dirty player

and what happens? the two biggest names after the game are seymour and hardwick....


if you would have told me going into that game that nick hardwick of all people was going to accuse any pats player of playing dirty, i'd be as embarrassed for san diego, as i am now

even if nick's comments were to a teammate and not meant for the reporter...what a hypocritical thing to voice

You wrote wilfork headbutt accusation when it was seymour. And watch the video, he didn't headbutt anyone. And yes, the Losman hit was incidental, he wasn't even looking at the QB. Wilfork eye poke was wrong and he got fined, though i think he was trying to point at his forehead to intimidate and it looked like an eye poke. Either way, it's over. Our team is good and yours sux. move on.

Maybe Big Vince was the second headbutter on the grassy knoll.

Dont worry everything works in cycles we'll talk in 2-3yrs when the Pats are poor again and the Bills are on top.....Sorry wrong title in the thread if the mods cant edit

Ya no optimism here just the MOST injury riddled team in the NFL that went 7-9 with a ROOKIE RB AND QB

Why has this sport became so girly? Players cant get into it without everyone crying about it or the whole "classy" issue coming up. It's a physical sport...just like hockey. Do you think that hockey fans cry about these kind of issues? Naw, they revere this kind of activity in a PHYSICAL SPORT. NFL fans can be so embarrassing some times.

So apparently the Bills are on the 20 year rebuilding plan? I mean it was only 93 that the wer last in a SuperBowl, what makes you think they are 2-3 years away now. They just replaced their "franchise" QB AGAIN! The day the Bills make the playoffs is the day Dungy marches in a gay pride parade.
