It's amazing we only beat them by 4.

;)

Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, Dallas Clark, Ryan Diem,

Dwight Freeney, Bob Sanders, Marlin Jackson

I think its the wrong question. i do not necessarily disagree with the answer, but there are many positions where it is very close.
Manning vs Brady has to be close, because even though Brady is far and away better, Manning is the second best, ie as close as it gets.
Maroney and Addai are close.
Clark and Watson are close, it depends on what you want your TE to do.
Their OL is good. While I favor ours, there isnt a big dropoff to any of their starters.
Defensively, you cant compare because the systems are so different. None of their LBs fit the mold of what we want, and none of our fit the mold of what they want. All of our DL are clearly better, but not suited to the kind of D they run. They would be better with our guys, but they would have to (and should if that were the case) play a different brand of football.

Right. You can rule out somebody's defensive Front Seven due to scheme and OL due to continuity. Anyhow, positions where the Colts are very competitive with the Pats in player quality include:

QB
RB
#1 WR
#2 WR
C
TE
DE (both)
SS
FS
#2 CB

and maybe I'm missing some others.

Gary Brackett.

Marlin Jackson
Joe Addai

Offensively you can pose this question. deffensively it doesn't make any sense. All their lineman are undersized speed rushers as is their linebacker, and the Corners are built for the cover zone D, not the man to man that the Pats do more often than not. The Safeties are the only ones that can go from one too the other. All the lineman over there are trying to get too the QB, ours are plugging the Gaps so that the LBs can make plays. Their LBs weigh, on average about 220 lbs. Ours? About 250-270. It's a ******ed comparison.
On the O though, the only the RT would probably make it over a Pats guy. I even think Maroney has closed the gap with Addai. Well, I suppose if you put Harrison as the #1 receiver, Moss would beat him, but Wayne would beat Stallworth. But Harrison is crap this year. I'd call Welker and Clark the slot guys, so they would match up, and Welker definetly wins that one.
Ya, the Pats are better on O by quite a bit.

Tom Sizemore and Tom Selleck.

Jackson DB
Diem -RT
Addai/Mauroney share the load
Clark TE

Wayne as No.2 wr

Koppen/ Saturday either or

Sanders over Pats Sanders

Gary Brackett.

who's place is he going to take though?

he's also 5'11, 235 I guess that's not too small but i can't see him replacing Colving, AD, Seau, or Bruschi......

I guess now that i type it, he could maybe replace Bruschi. that's kinda sad.

addia, adam v.

Possibly on Addai (he dropped off the map after the Pats game so its debateable) but not on Adam V. Gostowski > Adam on Kickoffs and they're even at worst on FG now.

Reggie Wayne certainly, if as WR #2.
Bob Sanders is overrated but he'd still start.
Clark isn't really a TE, he's more of a slot WR and we have a guy for that.
Punter doesn't really count but...

You can argue about the OL, but none are clear cut and working together would cancel that out. The front seven doesn't have anyone who could play in the Pats scheme. The DB are the wrong type and not that good.
