Re: Just saw a picture of Brady in N.Y with a cast boot on his foot.

Quite frankly, maybe one of the higher profile players in the league needs to use better judgement than spending his off day in the media capital of the world wearing a protective boot? If Tony Romo does this the media fries his ass to kingdom come.

Oh yeah, you have some time off and are hurting. Do you sit at home, or spend some time with your supermodel girlfriend? Maybe you would choose sitting at home, but almost noone else would.

Re: Brady's Foot - what 2+2 = for me

I've heard, as of the last 3 minutes, breaking reports that Tom Brady has upgraded.... from pain killers to good ole fashioned crack cocaine, more at 11.

I heard he was placed on OxyContin and now he's on his way to a rehab....one day at a time!

Re: Brady's Foot - what 2+2 = for me

Well I'm not a 16 year old girl but he obviously has something and likely had it early or before the game based on his play - we all wondered why he was below average (for him).

I'm increasingly disappointed with you. I didn't have you pegged for a freakin' moron...

As I recall weren't you a refuge from KFFL, a place that is now a veritable wasteland.

Here's what the Raiders clown who posted that crap as an obvious dig at Brady posted later in the thread:

"I hear his foot is rotting off from a rare flesh eating virus and it's contagious. ;)"

It's one thing to be overwrought and gullible, it's another thing to be spreading malicious crap you read on a message board and didn't comprehend was nothing more than a meanspirited troll trying to get a rise out of some suckers...

Re: Brady's Foot - what 2+2 = for me

You make a valid point here. but at the same time, this story would not have spread the way it did without the internet. It's a catch-22. I'd love for one person to give me one good solid reason why anyone should speculate on the Brady story. Explain what good it can do.

The only answer is it makes for good gossip.

Your are right about spreading the story on Moss, but I don't think so with the Brady foot story... Page6.com is a newspaper website and the pic either was in the paper (or will be tomorrow).

I have no problem with speculation like this thread on Brady, because I too have wondered why Brady looked like he did yesterday. This news might help explain it. It's natural for fans and media to use the latest game as an indicator of how the next game will go, and if there's a good explanation and a good likelyhood he'll be better for the SB I'll be happier going in.

Re: Tom Half Limp After Press Conference

Well, I stand by my previous statement. Looks like we've got a fairly bad injury and I'm quite sure he was lit on painkillers during the press conference. It makes sense given today's cast on foot sighting. Bummer.

Re: Brady's Foot - what 2+2 = for me

Just something to keep in mind (for those slightly worried about this).

In 2003 Brady had to have his knee drained every week of the playoffs, and had a limp. He won the SB MVP trophy that year while putting up some very good passing numbers.

The Sports hernia was already mentioned in threads concerning the topic, but it's still nice to think Brady was able to play through that injury, while McNabb found his way to IR nursing the same injury.

The point? The guy is tough, and it would take something severe to keep him from playing.

Re: Tom Half Limp After Press Conference

He seemed kind of intoxicated at the press conference. And yes, I am a medical professional. No BS.

And the reason you bring this up is.....? Why would you choose the word "lit" as if he was getting a buzz for recreational purposes.

BTW, I'm positive the injury is not serious...I'll stand by that statement.

Re: Herald has Brady Scoop

Do you think they will have to amputate Brady's right foot:rolleyes:

Reminds me of an exchange in "Bored of the Rings":

"How is he?"

"He has water on the brain!"

"Will he be alright?"

"Alas, it was so severe, we had to amputate!"

(Not exact, but close enough for government purposes.)

Re: Tom Half Limp After Press Conference

Side effect of the meds, nothing more, nothing less. Maybe you need some meds as well? Chill.

Well, you're the one who stated you were a medical professional. That is not a term a professional would use to describe Brady.

Re: Just saw a picture of Brady in N.Y with a cast boot on his foot.

I'm not a doctor and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night but after watching the TMZ video I would say Brady will be ok for the SB. He's walking and carrying flowers in his left hand and luggage in his right hand. Can't be too bad.

Would you have the same prognosis if the flowers were in the right hand and the luggage in the left?

Re: Tom Half Limp After Press Conference

Brady looked fine walking around after the game...

My guess is he slipped on the soap...

Seriously, he probably hurt it in the locker room after the game
there must have been some  consensual horseplay  going on in there.

Re: Does Brady's injury change your mind about the extra week off?

I like the bye week. It means that both teams are as close to full strength as is possible. I don't think the SB champ should be decided on rest or injuries.

Re: Brady's Foot - what 2+2 = for me

Let's get one FACT straight, this board is not for idle speculation on anything that enters your mind. It is for INTELLIGENT discussion. Of course as Pats fans, we think the Pats are great. If you didn't, you couldn't be a Pats fan. In all honesty, making a statement that SPECULATES that Brady was on pain killers, is the worst post I have ever read and no matter what anyone thinks, there is no logic in that statement. No athlete would take pain killers during a game in this day & age. Maybe in the 1970's, but not now.

Yes, clearly a possible scenario which ties Brady's game being off yesterday and his wearing a boot cast today is a thread which should be shat on incessantly so we can make room for the important threads like "HAHA I WAS RIGHT ABOUT MARONEY" and "GUyz guess what they are saying about us on this other discussion board" threads which typically permeate the front page.

Fans speculate all the time, get over it and ease off the caps lock it makes you come across as suffering from OCD or something. We've got 2 weeks so try to pace yourself on the meaningless rage directed at a perfectly valid discussion topic.

Re: Tom Half Limp After Press Conference

This is true, Tom Brady was half limp during the Trophy presentation, but aparently Gisele Bunchen helped out in that area later that evening, more at 11.

I agree with almost all of your statment. but I'm still waiting for one GOOD reason to speculate on his injury...it's just idle gossip and a reflection of our society's lack of patience for waiting for the facts.

NFL.com: Brady Injury

"We'll take a look at Tom's situation and we'll make an evaluation there and we'll talk about that and make a decision later on in the week," Belichick said of Brady's status.

After the game, Brady admitted he had a "little bit of swelling" around his left ankle. A couple of times, he risked hurting the ankle more jumping up and down celebrating Patriots second-half touchdowns.

Back In 2001

Tom Brady wins superbowls with leg injuries.

I'm still waiting for one GOOD reason to pay attention to your opinion ever again, you're quite possibly the least informed and least tolerant poster I've ever seen on this or any forum. Not to mention the FACT that your penchant for overreacting makes your posts the written equivalent of a toddler's shrill temper tantrum.

Speculation on Brady's injury hurts what, exactly, other than your delicate sensibilities?

I'll back off on the CAPs if you remove your stupid avatar. Seriously, talk about reflecting OCD!

Let's have a vote on fnordcircles avatar. How many would love to see him change it?

My bet is you like the fact that it bothers people.;)
