Randy Moss - First Off the Field After the Game?

Bill probably told him to get off the field; no need to field questions from the Michelle Tafoyas of the world when there's a more important game to focus on next week. Randy's been vindicated in everyone but the media's eyes, but there's no need for that distraction.

could it be something so simple as having to go.

Exactly.....

Great point. It never occurred to me that Bill would tell Randy he did not have to stay on the field if he was uncomfortable. I can see Belichick saying that.

Perhaps he was avoiding the media circus that could have resulted from his being around after the events of the last week-plus. If that is the case, he was doing something for his teammates, allowing them to celebrate and not have that dampened by questions unrelated to football.

Yes, I agree with this. He has said, the last thing he wanted was for this thing to come in the way of his teammates and Randy took it upon himself to completely avoid the media after the game for just that reason. He knew the questions "not related to the game" would come and he didn't want that for the team.

I agree with your way of looking at it. I don't know what this guy has to do to get people off his back, people are just waiting for the other shoe to drop.get a life, enjoy the win. we are afc champs going to the super bowl

I think this is it ... :yeahthat:

I'll tell you one thing: I am looking forward to a warm weather game where the Pats can fire up the passing game and Randy can go for a vintage 11 for 156 and 2 TD performance............that will cheer him up if he is a little down right now.

A point was probably made to avoid the media vultures. There is no incentive for Randy to talk much else at this point, as more details about the catastrophic finger injury  come out, he's got nothing else to prove in his own defense, at least to the media.

I hope he just plays it cool the next two weeks and repeats his week 17 performance. :rocker:

Why can't it be this? You know, sometimes nature calls guys.

Seriously, Randy had one catch each week, wasn't seen complaining to the coaches or QB once, wasn't caught frowning or pouting on the sideline, etc etc.

We won the game, I don't care one way or the other whether Randy's priority was

A) Jumping up and down on the field
B) Going to the bathroom.

Yeah, he let the guys who performed (Faulk, Maroney) get their due. I'll take this a lot of other alternatives. I think he's realizing the situation he is in here is good and does not want to pull a repeat of what T.O. did in Philly. The fact that he came to Belichick so early about the issue shows that he doesn't want to let the team down.

A few "spread 'em" end zone gestures, a corrupt lawyer being disbarred, and life will be good. :rocker:

I don't think it's a knock on Randy as much as it just plain sad that he can't celebrate in something he helped build.

Nobody was more instrumental to our year other than Brady, and even when he doesn't a catch a ball he affects the game.

There was nothing available deep all game. I don't want to guess, but I can't remember a pass that was completed more than 10 yards or so downfield before the run. They took away our long game.

Put it this way. Its no big deal. I am sure that he is very excited to be going to the Superbowl for the first time ever. If he was very upset with his performance then he'll just be upset with himself. Its not like he'd be angry or upset with the team or anyone on it. Two weeks from now he has a chance to light it up on the biggest stage of all.

I feel bad for Randy in a way. He had such a great year and the coaches and players love him. I think he knows the support he has from Patriot fans. But he may be down on himself a little. There was no controversy the entire year until last week. I just think he may be beating himself up a little.

Thankfully, he plays on a team that will let him know they support him and they'll probably even tell him to lighten up on himself.
