Reasons to hate LdT

Talent wise he is still the best back in the league but he's not a class act as he proclaims. You can be an apologist for him all you want but the fact remains that people around the league are catching on to the fact that he's a big baby.

Says you. Who are these people around the league?

what would prompt someone who is supposedly unassuming and "classy" to say "I'm a classy guy." Doesn't "classiness" include humility? Plus he always seems to have a whiny look on his face.

ahhh......the whiny look. Well there you have it. The #1 reason to hate Ladanian Tomlinson.

I would agree that Tomlinson is the best runner in the league, but not the best player, and certainly not the best teammate. People often put too much stock in statistics, which I don't feel is a good gauge of the actual value of a player. Look at ARod for example - without a doubt the best player in the majors statistically but he's generally not highly respected by his teammates, and he has a history of not getting the job done in the playoffs, when it really counts. Tomlinson is the same way. He's proven that he's immature and selfish, which ultimately hurts his team. All the talent in the world can't make up for that. The Pats have proven in the past that that character, and having a team-first attitude can very often get you farther than talent alone - it just so happens that this year they have both, which has proven to be a deadly combo.

Give me an example of him being selfish or immature. The only thing you can come up with is his reaction at the end of the game last year. Probably the most devastating loss of his career. I give him a free pass on that one. The stuff that happened on the sidelines this year is totally blown up by the media. They'll take the slightest facial expression and make a news story out of it.

I agree he's not the best player in the NFL. That distinction would go to Tom Brady. No argument there.

Saying in NE if you're not cheating you're not trying.

Saying they didn't respect the Patriots when they played them before.

Against the Titans sitting around like a toddler pouting because he was having a bad game.

Against Indy giving Rivers a hard time for not going back in.

Early in the season giving his coach the cold shoulder on the field after a loss.

I've given you plenty you just want to wash them all away as not important or with your fairy tale explainations of how that didn't happen it happened like this.

They ain't cheating, they ain't trying. gee, that apology was sincere wasn't it? Face it, we accept that most people think very little of BB. You see a few little snippets of him. We see more and think extremely highly of him. Why can't you accept the fact that we view Classy as a piece of garbage and a fraud?

Here's an example. TB and Classy were both going to break records at the end of the year (1 for most TD's OF ALL TIME, 1 for rushing title for the year) When asked, Tom said a million times he could have cared less, Classy said he definitely wanted it. to me, it shows the difference between the 2 and I'll take Tom any day.

Shaun Alexander is a good example. He was the MVP a couple of years ago, now he's fallen off the map. Classy is the flavor of the week, but there's a little boy in MN nipping on his heels. It will be interesting to see the reaction when the spotlight is off Classy and turns to him and the new young stud McFadden.

The whiny look thing was an afterthought, not the reason I think he might fizzle, or not be clutch when he needs to be.

How about stupidity? saying the night before a game "if we were to play them 10 times we would win 9" why would you say that?

If that's what the media does, then the top shelf players need to realize they have to be on guard against that at all times. The media and the fans love to see the heros fall from their pedestals, and the media will help them do that any time they can.

The best defense is to always be on your good behavior and keep a very low profile.

Not saying the situation with the blood thirsty media is good, but that is the situation that exists. Ask any athlete or entertainment star who has veered from the path of righteousness even a little bit.

LT sets himself up by being so visible.

Another good one.

Exactly or Adrian Peterson, I just don't think he'll be able to deal with mediocrity.

there isn't anything lower than HATERS

Sure there is. Child Molesters? They're pretty low. Rapists? Yup. Terrorists? Yup. see, that's just 3.

Yeah I mean off the top of my head I can think of a few thing, murderers, George Bush, war criminals, thieves, there's many, many more lower things than haters.

Anyway, hating LdT is a little much, but I do think there are a few things about his attitude that I dislike.

1. Saw an interview with him where he said "We didn't respect the Patriots when we played them before." So you didn't respect a 3 time SB champion when you had done **** as a team?

2. On EEI this morning they said he was quoted as saying he didn't re-enter the game vs Indy because he was worried about his career long term. So you're in the playoffs and all you're worried about is your longevity? There's guys who would hack off a thumb if it meant going back in to a playoff game.

3. You've just admitted you were worried about your career yet in the same game you are seen yelling at your QB because he's not going back in the game for the same reason as you. WTF?

4. Crying because some of their dances are mocked.

5. Questioning other teams class and proclaiming "I'm a very classy individual."

6. Pouting on the sidelines for 3.75 quarters and yelling at or ignoring teammates because he's having a bad game then being everyone's best friend when he finally scores.

I'm sorry but this guy is a gutless punk who's not the least bit classy. And he's not a good teammate. His sideline antics in both the Titans and Colts games are repulsive and then to find out he didn't want to go back in and yet was yelling at Rivers really shows what type of teammate this punk is.

You're having an episode of New York media syndrome where one picks someone apart just because they have a bias for or against one person or group. Who can criticize him for being concerned about his career? Have you heard the guy speak? He doesn't have a future in teaching English. I personally believe the guy has matured exponentially from the point where he made the hilarious comment that dancing and taunting was classless as a highlight film played behind him of his teammates doing musical numbers after routine plays. The press conferences with LT of late have shown that he's been humbled. He took the patriot route and just complimented the other team in today's press conference. I have no problem with him.

When did he come out and say "I do not respect the patriots". The only time he ever said anything negative about the pats was directly after last seasons loss.

"If your not cheating than your not trying" is an old saying.

He never gave Rivers a hard time - he turned his head away and grimaced as if to say "not you too!" Rivers and LT have a good relationship. I saw them joking around with each other at the press conference right after the game against the titans where LT got up and walked off when Phil sat down.

Sitting around like a toddler? I'll take your word for it dude. I don't know how to sit around like a toddler or what that even looks like.

Giving Norv the cold shoulder after a loss? I didn't see it, but it doesn't really sound that bad. I'm sure most guys are bummed after a loss. I'd be much more concerned if he ran up and gave Norv a hug.

LT has never given a crap about being in the limelight. He's been a stud for years even when the team was horrible.

I've yet to hear an opposing player or coach say anything negative about LT.

Why hate, pity is so much better :rocker:
