Butch Stearns: Rivers MAY have torn ACL, or not [mergedx2]

1) Butch Stearns is, has been, and always will be a ******* moron. I would be more shocked if he got a story right.

2) All this talk about which ligament is torn (and yes folks, if it's a "sprain" it's still partially torn) is irrelevant, silly and counter-productive because...

3) It doesn't matter which QB starts for San Diego. It's either gonna be a healthy Volek or a banged-up Rivers. In my mind, that's a wash. (I know some of you newer Chargers fans may not remember that Volek has had a pretty successful career as a back-up and starter).

4) San Diego has more important things to worry about; like how to cover 5 receiving targets without dropping 8 into coverage.

Re: Butch Stearns: Rivers has torn ACL

Although the way he was walking off field Sunday sure didn't look like a torn ACL. I've torn an ACL and I could barely walk for a week.

Same here. First softball practice after I tore it, first swing of the bat, I went down like a sack of potatoes. Freakin' pain is brutal. If this is true, his playing time will not last long.

The first big story Butch Stearns breaks will be his first, ..........

AH HAHAHAHAHAHHAA I love that line!!!!

Nah - its only unbearably painful for the first 5 or 6 times it bends completely sideways.... after that you've probably killed off all the never cells.

But again, even swinging the bat creates lateral movement on the knee... dropping back and throwing - no ACL is fine...

Running - juking, cutting - and getting hit? Forget it.

Rivers would be able to drop back and stand in the pocket and throw no problem, and could do well - as long as everyone agreed not to pressure him or tackle him. And since that's not going to happen I can't see him playing.

Bobby Shaw, formerly of the Steelers, Jags and Bills, played his entire career without his ACLs. He tore them in high school, never had them repaired. And he was a WR.

So, your body CAN compensate over time for the torn ligaments.

He has had a good career with the Titans. But no one trusts him in our offense. Titans live by the "keep it stupid simple" mantra.

He certainly has a less vertically challenged arm than Rivers.

He actually butchered the joke, although I tend to agree with the premise. The joke is "the NEXT big story Butch Stearns breaks will be his first".

Thank you for doing this, you saved me from doing it.

I don't understand why it's funny. The first big story Butch Stearns breaks will be his first.

Isn't the line supposed to be "the next big story Butch Stearns breaks will be his first"?

Love that sig, Bolt. What a huge shot!
Yep, textbook. It was clean, he rocked em, and forced Indy to take their last timeout.

Learn the availability? They know who is playing, they just aren't saying it.
