...have beaten 8 of the 11 other playoff teams. The only teams they will not have faced are:

Titans
Bucs
Seahawks

When is the last time a SB champion beat 72% of that year's playoff teams? Even without 16-0, that would be an impressive feat.

What makes it even better is that they also beat the Browns who were a Colts-actually-playing-a-real-NFL-game away from making the post-season.

if they beat seahawks in the sb same deal.

which are also the 3 worst playoff teams. IMO.

Of course. I only noted GB as I think that would make the feat a lot more impressive for NE.

Certainly no one can say NE went 19-0 thanks to an easy schedule ...

If Jacksonville beats the Pats, and goes on to defeat Indy and win the superbowl, they will have been the first team in history to defeat the last three superbowl champions in the playoffs ;)

Good stat :O

May as well throw out that stat right now, since the frauds from Jacksonville will watch their season end Saturday.

I Would Love To See A Patriots-packers Super Bowl

Re: If the Pats beat GB in the Super Bowl they will ...

Would it be considered a revenge match?

Troy Brown has been waiting ten years for this...

Are there any other current patriots who were on that roster?

I have a feeling it will be Pats vs the Seahawks...I remember the last game they played at Lambeau when GB won (luckily) in OT... If Matt hadn't shot off his mouth and remained calm, he would have won that game with a FG...

Tedy Bruschi...and Dante Scarnecchia.

I must be missing one.

2005 NFL Champs Pittsburgh Steelers (Bowl played in 06)
2006 NFL Champs Indy Colts (Bowl played in 07)
2007 NFL Champs ??????????? (Bowl played in 08)

We beat the Seahawks and Steelers in the 05 season, and the Colt's in the 06 season. It's been the "We beat the Superbowl Champs before they won" syndrome. Of course, we did beat the Steelers in the 06 season, via a 9-0 shutout, hereby making the Jags the Steelers daddy. (Of course, two wins this year helped a lot, too) :p :p
