1. Pats 16-0. Going for 4th title in 7 years.

2. Sox win 2 World Series in 4 years.

3. Celtics 25-3. Long way to go. But, look like they will go deep into the playoffs.

4. Hell, the Revolution even made their final.

5. Bruins. Where have you gone Bobby Orr? Hopefully, new management does a good job and gets them on track.

I thought UCLA was in a bowl game?

Re: OT..When will the Bruins get with the program?

Simply put:

Robert Kraft = Best owner of a professional sports franchise.

Jeremy Jacobs = Worst owner of a professional sports franchise.*

* Certainly one of the worst, as there are others.

It's truly an embarrassment what has happened with that once proud and productive franchise. The accomplishments of this great Pats franchise and those of the Sox have absolutely buried the Bruins in the eyes of their once adoring fans. The Celtics resurgence is the best thing that's happened to Bruins ownership in years... the concessions from the Celtics home games are padding Jacobs pockets - which is all he cares about. But anyway, who cares about the Bruins anymore. We have the BEST FOOTBALL TEAM (FRANCHISE) EVER!!! GO PATS!!!!

People who like hockey. You're right about Jacobs, though he's been more willing to open his pockets these days.

By the way, the Bruins, despite being on a 4 game skid, still have the same or a better record than all but 4 teams in their conference, and are well within striking distance of all but one of them. They should make the playoffs this year, and everyone knows the hockey playoffs are unpredictable.

Re: OT..When will the Bruins get with the program?

Until and unless the Bs find 3 more Milan Lucics on offense, another Zdeno Chara and Ray Borque on defense, and a Pro/Amateur scouting dept. and FO that can spot and acquire this talent, then I'm afraid that there's not much hope for them. Too many small, soft, right handed-shooting floaters on offense. Take tonight's loss in Atlanta, for example. Please.

15 years ago, the Bruins at the Garden were the hottest tickets in town. Alas, those days are gone forever, as is the NHL that I knew and loved. But that's an OT for another forum.

My mighty Avalanche will destroy the Bruins. :D

It always starts at the top and works it way down, im sorry P.C. is one of the main problems, i dont see why this guy is not kicked to the curb already, he obviously cant judge tallent and also cant work the free agency wire without blowing out our cap space, atleast years ago we had the excuse of not spending money, now they spend money and are getting even worse results. Until managment is completely replaced i dont see this team going anywhere unless they get sold and move out of boston.

Despite all the hype surrounding Lucic, he's not lived up to it yet and was a healthy scratch for a few games earlier in the season. The FO you are knocking has signed Savard, Chara, traded for the lieks of Wideman, Kobasew, and Auld who has been filling in nicely in Fernandez's absence. And before this recent cold streak they were second in the Eastern Conference. There seems to be some hope in the form of Rask, Hunwick, Mark Stuart, and Lucic once they come around.

I was at the Prudential Center to see the Devils and Bruins few weeks ago. It was hilarious to see Boston choke a 3-0 lead to the Devils and seeing Devils fans chanting "BOSTON SUCKS" after the game from the arena, to the lobby, and at Penn Station.

Stay classy Toxic wastland dwellers. Sad state of affairs for you guys when the Hockey team is the last straw to taunt.

3 more of Milan Lucic. If you are watching the Bruins, which i doubt you would see one Milan is plenty. You really want 2 more inexpeirenced teenagers on the team. Milan has a loong way to go, and if you are talking about his phisical play they have plenty in Thornton and Riech. You're not another one of those crybaby Bruins fans that still talk about the past and compare evryone to Bourque and Neely. The Bruins are having a good season. if you want Bourque and Neely go buy some Bruins classic tapes

When Jacobs and his son expire or sell the team.

The Bruins will flounder forever until they add a few forwards

who can score. Chiarelli made the wrong move last year trading

Brad Boyes for a defenseman. This move has come back to haunt

the Bruins.

Not really. Wideman has been the Bruins second best defenseman this season, and if they didn't have him on the blueline they'd in trouble. Also, I highly doubt that Boyes would have put up the same numbers with the Bruins as he has with the Blues. I am not saying it's a good deal, because we could have got Wideman for way less, but the move hasn't come back to haunt us. The forward situation will probably be set next season, as Penguins forward Marian Hossa has a good chance with signing with the team. Chara is his best friend, he knows Chiarelli from Ottawa, and he was friends with Savard when they played with Atlanta.

From what I understand P.C. was under direct orders from Jacobs to trade Joe Thornton and break up that team. New ownership (are you listening Cam and Ray?????) is needed in the most desperate way.

One thing this team really needs is a clone of "the rat" ... we don't really have that player that pisses everyone off. Lucic comes the closest but his is more of a power game. Sturm could be like the rat but it's not his game.

BTW ...concerning Lucic ... he's a LW but his skating reminds me so much of Neely. If he becomes 1/2 the scorer Neely was then he'll be a keeper.

Let's do an update of the local teams.
1. Pats went un-defeated all the way up to the Super Bowl, where they regretfully lost.
2. Sox are currently are 31-22, not far from 32-15 a year earlier, but we were at the top of the American League east last year with TB at the bottom. This year Tampa Bay is on top and we're second. We just got swept by the A's.
3. Celtics are currently 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals. Our last victory was finally on the road. #17 is coming!!!
4. The Revs. have gone to the finals 3 times in the last 5 years and have not come away with an MLS cup. The last 2 attempts were both against Dallas and the first was at Gilette Stadium!!! We do have a good win loss record this year, almost at the top of the standings...
5. Well, management could have done better. We went 7 games and lost in the end. Well at least the Canadiens didn't make it past the Flyers...

Don't forget the Revs did win the US Open Cup last season despite losing the MLS Cup so they did get a trophy.

The Bruins proved very long ago that there business plan is to maximize profits by investing enough money to keep the fans interested (i.e., keep the team good enough to make the playoffs and perhaps contend for a division title) but don't risk a lot of money in an attempt to win a championship that may not happen anyways for whatever reason.

The plan has served the team's owners well for the most part over the last 35 years; I see no reason why it will change until their is a change of ownership.
