How many TDs do you think Brady would have if he played in a dome?

8 games in a dome= a much bigger chance to put up bigger numbers

sorry buddy but Payton is no where near brady's league.
Yeah I agree. Sean Payton isn't the quarterback that Brady is.

Well one thing that will be brought up is the fact that manning didnt play the second half of the game of week 16 and didnt play at all week 17.

Manning also had many games where he didnt play in the 4th quarter.

You might want to go look that up and then come back and revise your statement.;)

Here I'll help you out. Do you think Sorgi led you to victory over the Chargers in OT in week 16? Didn't think so.

Now about the 4th quarter thing, it appears that Manning sat for 1 entire 4th quarter and came out with 9+ minutes in another game. Other than that he was in the game deep into the 4th quarter i.e.. 3 minutes or less.

PAYton, get it, PAY ton? I'll try to say it slow, grab some crayons and try to draw if out if you can

Peyton, wants more money than anything, therefor, he is PAYton, understand?

By the way, whats it like watching all sides of the Manning is better than brady arguments you silly colts fans make slip away?

Yeah, I get it. But then I TURNED IT AROUND. WOah boy.

Also, I have yet to see a valid argument of how Brady is better besides "MOAR SUPAR BOLE RINGS LOL"

Actually, both Moss and Brady's record will be rather unimpressive when/if they break it. Moss because Rice only did it in 12 games, and Brady because Manning only did it in 14 and a half games. It's ok, Brady and Moss just aren't good enough to do it in the same time span as them. They're inferior.

Are you implying that Manning sat out the entire 2nd half of an over time win against SD in week 16 of 2004?

If you are, I will tell you the same thing I told your buddy. Go look it up and then come back and revise your statement.

well 15 games then. OH GOD THAT'S DIFFERENT. But my point still applies.

And Brady has sat for more minutes than Manning had through 15 games, but don't let that get in the way of your argument.

And to thnk I was actually going to give you credit for knowing that Manning sat for 1 and 3/4 quarters during the season excluding week 17.

After the Giants game, it will be a statistical fact.
Peyton is more than welcome to gun for Brady's record in 2008, IF he's up for the challenge. :p

If Brady played in a dome? Add about an extra TD in each home game. So between 55-60 TDs.

Wow, lots of troll posts on this thread. They really care about this record... makes me want to see Brady break Manning's record even more.

It's understandable there are so many Colts trolls here. For years it was always "Brady has the rings and Peyton has the numbers" - so the argument had merit on both sides. Then last year, Peyton finally got his ring, still had his precious records and was still seen as the superior stat machine. This was a high for him and Colts fans I think, a moment where he seemed to have edged Brady for a bit. Now, Brady has his weapons, weapons up to the calibar that Manning has had his whole career. Now, Brady is poised to break Mannings records, yet he still has those rings and is threatening for at LEAST one more.

So if you ask me, Colts fans have allot to worry about. As they watch Brady shatter the only thing they have left to cling to.

I can cling to the QB rating stat just fine thank you.

I'm not talking about an outdated rating system. Nor do I mean any specific stat that Peyton still claims. I'm talking about the fact that Brady has shown the capabilitys to set records, and become the stat monster that everyone thought Peyton would always have the edge in.

I didn't see anything comparing total average of minutes per game between brady and manning.

ESPN has every play of every game of that season. If you care to go back through the 4th quarter of those games to get the exact minutes, have at it. I did it once and spelled it out in that thread. But the fact that Brady has already sat for roughly 3 quarters this season trumps the 5 times Manning didn't take the final offensive snap for the Colts in 2004. Considering two of those games Sorgi came in with less than 4 minutes.

The majority of it is there.

One thing that might want to be noted is that Tom Brady is throwing to someone that many people would argue is the most talented wide receiver ever. ANd if they dont think he is, theyd say hes second. Brady has thrown close to 45% of his touchdowns to that one guy.

Peyton Manning, while always having a VERY good receiving core, never had such a priveledge. Marvin Harrison is a very good receiver but in no way is he Randy Moss. In his record year Manning would did not have the opportunity to just throw balls up into X-touple coverage knowing his receiver could outrun and outjump just about any defensive players hed play against. We saw tonight as we have all season that Brady doesnt have a problem forcing balls to Moss that just arent there. The difference is that more often than not, Moss can make a play on those balls. A jump ball to Moss for instance is almost impossible to defend without PI. I think it says a lot that Moss is on pace to break the TD record the same year Brady is on pace to break the TD record. Brady is an amazing QB, but Moss MAKES QBs. Look at Culpepper. Hes an averagely talented QB, Moss made him great. Brady is a great QB, but Moss makes him a record breaker.
Ask yourself this, how many TDs do you honestly think Peyton Manning could score if he had Randy Moss to throw to?

Now that said, Brady IS an amazing QB and when people say one guy is 1a and one guy is 1b, I think they have it just right. I wouldnt be able to choose who is which though. Peyton Manning IS the better QB from a statistical point of view. He has 30 tds this year without his primary receiver, and for a few games he didnt even have the guy that FILLED IN for his primary receiver!
But, we've seen Peyton Manning break down under pressure which is something that rarely happens to Tom Brady.

I see it this way:
Peyton Manning has an edge over Brady in pure QB skill, and field control (he controls his own offense. As far as I know hes the only QB that does that. Could be wrong though.) However Brady is only slightly behind.
Brady has the edge in courage, mobility and mental toughness. Peyton is only slightly behind in this category (assuming now that the monkeys off his back he can keep from choking).
However Brady wins the courage category hands down. Hes far more willing to put himself at risk to get the yards. Brady won my ultimate unquestionable respect when he took off, faced down Brian Urlacher and instead of sliding, threw a fake and undressed him.

All in all though, I think people should get out of this mindset that Brady is God and Manning sucks or Manning is God and Brady sucks.
Theyre different QBs, with slightly different strengths and weaknesses, however, theyre both incredible, and in my books I dont think one is necessarily significantly better than the other. What IS for sure though is that having 2 guys like that in the league at the same time regularly meeting up is great for the game of football.
