We're 9-0 and Rex is our Quarterback.

Re: Maroney tells critics "I'll come through when the 10-0 Patriots need me"

much ado about nothing.

I don't know if I would call it nothing - When you see a Patriots player get criticized this year from the media its definately noteworthy IMO - The only person on the Patriots truly getting criticized all year is BB,Now the critics have to make it more interesting with players.

If the kid turns out to be a bum in a few years, then so be it but as long as we are winning I could not care less RIGHT NOW.

As soon as we start to lose a few games whenever this happens (next year or so on) then some players will be under scrutiny,Until then buckle your chinstraps and enjoy the ride :rocker:

Re: Maroney tells critics "I'll come through when the 10-0 Patriots need me"

He'll always be able to say "I was the starting running back for the 19-0 Patriots"

He'll be fine.

Re: Maroney tells critics "I'll come through when the 10-0 Patriots need me"

Maroney responds through critics and answers the gritty questions in this article I have not seen on this forum....

You've had a few iffy threads lately, Patriot64, but this one is especially lame and misleading in that you have taken the "message" the writer claims LoMar is "sending" to his critics and made it sound as though MARONEY ACTUALLY SAID "I'll come through when the 10-0 Patriots need me." He didn't. A quick scan of the article shows this.

Let's try to be fair and accurate here. Let's not be lazy.

MARONEY QUOTED AS SAYING "Folks can say what they want about the running game but its the passing thats holding it down right now,When it comes to the running situation and if I don't do anything then talk about me"

That is in quotes of what Maroney has said,What part of these quotes with Maroney did you not understand?,The last time I checked when a quotation was used in an article it apparently came FROM THE PLAYER HIMSELF - Not so far from what the title indicates like you say is misleading,What he is saying is the passing game is what this team is about and when it comes to the running game he claims he will produce when needed to.

As far as your opinion on what I write about lately, it don't really matter to me and I am not trying to have a career as a sports writer anyway,I make plenty of money daily as a store owner and could care less what people with $7 and hour jobs and who sit behind a PC say about my posts whether its you or anyone else,If you don't like em don't read em' -its that simple.

ya you are right, this is bogus. the writer said it as his opinon, and maroney said nothing of the sort.

no the article doesnt say that at all. that quote did not come from maroney. In fact, it isnt a quote at all. try reading it. the writer took maroney's words and interpreted them as saying that. did you notice there are no quotes around the sentence? that means it is NOT a quote as you have put in the title of this thread. the title here is totally inaccurate. IT DID NOT COME FROM the player himself.

Quotes are in the article,"That means Maroney Allegedly said it"- Whether you believe the article or not is your opinion - I think that southcoast today.com site has been pretty good and realistic with Patriots articles and I take it as legit although some homers think everything is bogus when its not a rah-rah pro Patriots article

Unless you are a blithering idiot then either you believe the article was real or not thats your opinion, but if it was true then Maroney was INDEED saying it - see the 'I' AND 'ME' in the quoter - Thats NOT the article writer, its a quotation from Maroney,An alleged one anyway.

Do you need any more reason other than you don't believe the conversation ever took place?.

YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO READ. Read the article again, Pat64. Maroney NEVER says that. You have it in the title of the thread -

Maroney tells critics "I'll come through when the 10-0 Patriots need me"

Ridiculous.

Ridiculous.

And like I told you before it sums up what Maroney said,Did he say exactly as my title as what was in the article? - NO,VERY close but not exactly but there truly is no difference

Did his opinion on what people should expect from him pretty much sum up the quotes? YES

He CLEARLY states the team is a passing team and when the running game is needed he will produce - Thats what he was "quoted as saying" - remember you can only include so much in he title on this site so you have to kind of put the words all together in one short sentence

Now if that is so far from the title then tell me how so?

There are Maroney ballwashers on this site and there is no getting through to those who think he is going to be good and those who are the doubters as seen in a million posts this week,I am between the two opinions right now waiting on the results of the next year or two for a final opinion on him since he is only 22.

We are, I believe, ALL talking about your braindead thread-title in which you put the words "I'll come through when the 10-0 Patriots need me" front and center. If you read that passage in the article and don't understand that it's the writer's hyperbolic interpretation of something LoMar DEFINITELY DIDN'T SAY, I don't know what we can do to help you, short of directing you to the nearest 8 year old for reading comprehension and/or remedial journalism training.

Re: Maroney tells critics "I'll come through when the 10-0 Patriots need me"

Not to jump in, but... One should not use quotation marks for anything except for a direct quote. I was misled, FWIW.

Listen Patsox,If the title is not close enough for you or good enough then in the immortal words of Fitzy, GFY

Thats what he said in as close to the quotes as you can get in what you are allowed on the title area.

If you don't think thats close to what he said then that 8 year old needs to help YOU in comprehension not me.

Just keep on the Maroney Ballwashing and STFU

No, you clearly are the blithering idiot and cannot read to save your life. You just cannot understand an article without a cartoon.

There is no quote, you made it up in your fat head. Try going back to kindergarten and learning how to read "you blithering idiot." Nice try in making up news. You must me trying to get a job with ESPN. That would explain the idiot part.

I find it funny that you cannot comprehend that a writer ends an article with his thesis he is presenting. It is not a freaking quote. It is the writer's thesis and summation of what he feels Maroney was trying to communicate. You have to be a bonehead not to see it.

o.k. If it makes you all happy I will adjust it....But not because Patsox says so

God forbid you fix something because it is the right thing to do and the thread title is a total lie.
