I know I should't post a thread on this, but my original thread where I grossly disrespected shmessy was rightfully banished to the visitors locker room.

I wrongly accused shmessy (and other mods) of making a cowardly decision regarding a thread. I also regret that I over reacted and insulted our mods as well. I was to put it bluntly, a jerk for all of the above.

I reacted on my own frustration and nothing else. My reaction and behavior was wrong and I apologize to our mods and especially to shmessy who has backed me up more than once.

I truly regret this and I'm embaressed by my behavior.

sounds good. Thanks for apologizing for whatever you did, but I can't imagine it was as horrible as your apology makes it sound.

I guess that's not for me to say, but I insulted them publicly, so I wanted to apologize publicly.

I have only been here briefly, but Shmessy seems like a very very nice guy!

I agree with this. Three cheers for Shmessy!! Seems very fair and able to avoid knee jerk reactions. Which can be hard to do when you are a loyal and passionate football fan. Thanks Shmez!

What a punk that Shmessy is....thinks he's so high and mighty....:D :rocker:

Lets go Shmessy clap, clap, clap, clap, clap

I love how all the rival team fans are sucking up to the mods.

Glad that you apologized although I didn't read your thread.

I have noticed over the past month or so that here has been several posters on differnent occasions that have been critical of the mod's on this forum. I'm not a mod on this forum so I can say this.

If you have a problem with something a mod does or doesn't do, use the PM to contact them. I really do think the mods are doing the best they can following Ian's guidelines. The mods are doing this on a volunteer (non paid) basis. They all have other things going on in their lives and can't be here 24/7.

There have been times when I haven't agreed with something a mod has done or haven't done but I accept it because I know they have a lot going and every call cannot be perfect. Even Tom Brady is not having a perfect season.

Mod's are regular posters too. With the volume of situations that come up here, they do put in time that they would rather be posting or taking care of personal matters. I don't think I would want to be a mod on this forum and I don't think I'd be a very good one if I were.

So let's cut them some slack and think before you go off on them in an open thread.Think about sending a PM and think about how you would do as a mod here.

Thanks everybody. And to Patriotsreign -- don't worry, it's a new day and it's all good.

Enjoy the game folks!

Thanks for acknowedging my apology. You didn't have to do that and now I'm teary-eyed!;) ...hey, I'm Irish. I can't help it!

The Moderators SUCK...................................

Just kidding. It's a thankless job and this thread as good as any for a little ball washing. Thanks for all you do guys.

That said, I think a lot of us are feeling "troll weary" in the midst of what could turn out to be a "magical" season. I love this place and it's great to come here and share the glory that is "our Patriots" with my fellow fans. It can (and does) get tiresome listening to the comments of some of the real a-hole trolls (not the honest fans from other teams). I think that where some of the issues/resentments lie.

By definition, a troll is here to disrupt the flow of conversation, and to a point, they can be (and have) been effective. Still, this place is great overall and the mods are a major reason for that. Other than changes that would effect the flow of this site (which could be bad or good), not much can be done. I put my faith in them.

Keep on, keeping on.... :rocker:

i have been very upset with the Mods on this board, but i agree with what you posted. I will also say that it needs to go both ways...the mods could do a better job in dealing with people and some are bias

 You're not? Then why does it say "Moderator" under your name?

not this forum silly, probably the visiting locker room or some others. He's a mod of the board but under the board there are many different forums :p at least that's what I thought :D

Absolutely...and nobody more so than the mods! The "magical" nature of the season has brought out an extraordinary number of trolls, and thus headaches.

It's easy to tell when trolls have invaded a conversation you're involved in. It's much harder to know when a troll flamefest has broken out on page 5 of a thread you stopped reading after page 2. And it's even harder to know what to do about it. You don't want to kill an otherwise good thread. You can't waste an hour painstakingly weeding out a back-and-forth flame war from surrounding posts. And you cannot ban anybody.

I want to repeat that, since it seems to be widely misunderstood. Mods on this forum cannot ban posters. We can edit and delete posts, move and delete threads. That is what we can do. When we see an egregious violator we pass on a ban recommendation to the site manager. Sometimes it takes a while before the ban comes through.

So anyway, us mod types have gotten yelled at a lot for not controlling the troll epidemic. The only real recourse we have is to be more aggressive in moving whole threads...but then we get yelled at for moving threads! And the longer the unbeaten streak continues, the more trolls are going to flock in. As others have said, please just PM us when issues come up, we're doing our best. And please have patience, and try not to yell. Thanks.

Just a followup to what Patchick said - - the past week, you folks have gotten the "pleasure" of seeing only about 20% of the troll posts that made it through.

Yes, it's been that bad from the "Heil to the Redskins" crowd.

Well the Redskins were forced to kneel and Heil the Patriots today!:D

I think the mods are decent and fair - Just the other day I complained about a Boston College post made by Shmessy which was sort of out of place in the Patriots forum and he wasted no time in moving to its proper place to the BC forum and defined the rules of posting OTs in a follow up post

That is professional Modding (if thats a word) - IMO

Good overall job - Although Pats1 and Patsnutme get on my nerves sometimes
But isn't that what all family members do to one another?
After all we are all family members of Patriots Nation -Are we not?
