Easterbrook says:

I also asserted that Belichick had been unsportsmanlike by ordering his team to try to score from the Dallas 1-yard line with 23 seconds remaining, despite having a 41-27 lead. At the 1:43 mark, I wrote, Dallas was out of timeouts, New England had three downs and should have knelt from that point.

JoePats says:

Easterbrook is not a math major, completely failing to realize that 3 kneeldowns from 1:43 does not end the game. Why can't he see this?

For all intents and purposes, it DOES end the game. How fast can you score 1 TD from 95 yards away, let alone 2??

He's a total d!ck. I sent him a lot of mail yesterday, asking questions about his logic and bringing things like the Patriots' charity work up, and he's too much of a ****y to even address it. Ridiculous...

I pissed they didn't go for two. BTW, there's no crying in football. Why were they caling a trime out if the game was over? If they make that statement that they're still trying to beat you then why can't the Patriots keep playing too? Why can't the patriots give their 3rd string back some real game time experience? Why can't you go away?

Gotta imagine its tongue-in-cheek at this point. Its totally possible he said "im going to be as rediculous as possible and see what happens"

But that wasn't TMQ's point, and he's being disingenuous about the whole thing. Which of course is highly ironic considering the tone of the piece.

Was there ever a game in the NFL where a team took kneel downs and left time on the clock for an opponent? Ever?

But these Patriots are so good, they should be kneeling during every possession in the 2nd half. That's only fair.

wow......just read the TMQ good vs evil piece.

Easterbrook has clearly missed his calling in life. He would have have been a perfect spin doctor in bill clinton's war room along with george stuffitupoulous.

The volume of misinformation presented is ... staggering. I won't address anything in his misguided rant because its just so utterly wrong.

hope he keeps this up all year, because this stuff is much better billboard material than ANYTHING an opposing player could say

I'm surprised he didn't have a witty comment about BC. Guess he doesn't realize it's a Catholic school.

As for being a spin doctor for Clinton, Easterbrook would never have worked for Clinton. Are you kidding me? Clinton is the devil, he cheated on his wife several times. Talk about a sybarite. Easterbrook is one of the most socially conservative political writers out there, falling into the domain of the religious-right (he lauded the Colts because they "all believe in a higher power"), and is a noted anti-Semite and probably anti-Catholic as well. Funny for a guy from Buffalo.

In his last column, he called Indianapolis a "small town," when it contains a time and a half more people than Boston. Don't let the fact get in the way of a bad story.

This guy's a douche. Plain and simple. That's all there is to it.

You can't score that fast. But your defense can suffer an injury from having to come back onto the field. Run it up, keep the Pats healthy.

here is TMQ's hypocrisy

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/070925&sportCat=nfl#new

Warning -- Praise of New England: Notwithstanding the relentless anti-Belichick tone of the previous two columns, TMQ lauds the New England coach for showing good sportsmanship. Leading Buffalo 38-7 with 4 minutes remaining, the Flying Elvii faced fourth-and-6 on the Bills' 8. Belichick simply had the fullback dive up the middle, Buffalo ball, to hold down the final score.

so here the bills stopped us ..so its good sportsmanship. In dallas those guys let us score , we are running up the score. Be consistent TMO !

don't pretend that you're all high and mighty over there here

yeah going for 2 with how much time left??

LOL. So, 23 ticks left, up by two td's, inside the 5 yard line, and you think the boys will quickly run out on the field, run a single play from the 2-3 yard line, go roughly 97 yards, and then complete a successful on sides kick and score to tie it. All in that amount of time? Can you find a team that has ever done that?

The Colts @ Pats, the 2 pointer gives them a 3 TD (21 point lead) with STILL over 5 minutes to play. Indy scored 21 in 4 minutes at Bucs. It was a good call by Dungy.
TY.

Was that article written by a Patsy*?

So, you'd rather kick off, and expose special teams?

Even with the Boys T.O., you easily get the clock down inside 30 seconds with three kneels. By the time that last kneel happens, and everyone is just milling about, I guarantee you the BOYS take a knee, JUST LIKE THEY DID AFTER THE KICKOFF.

You're f*cking stupid.

Ball back with 23 seconds left. Romo hucks it to TO, who's wide open after Asante Samuel collides with Randall Gay and they get tangled up. Fluke play, one TD lead. Onside kick with 14 seconds left, recovered by Cowboys. 7 seconds on the clock, hail mary in the endzone, bounces off the hands of three patriots into Patrick Crayton's hands. Tie game. Belichick tells you to f*ck off and I slap your wife in the mouth.

Against the fins the Patriots should have knelt down 3 times every possession in the second half then punted when they went up 42-7.

It would have been the nice thing to do.:D

Yeah, Polian. They're Satanists.
