I agree with you. However, we do have some posters that will fixate on an undefeated season. Some will also still post as to whether Brady is better than Manning, are we the greatest dynasty, etc.

If you don't like the posts about an undefeted season, then simply don't read them. If others want to hope, speculate, and comment on this topic, let them. We are fans, we are not on the actual team.

If you include humble pie as part of your diet, then eat it. Don't worry about what others are consuming.

I had them going undefeated (barring major injury)after they traded for Moss in April, why would I not talk about that now?

Yeah - this sort of talk is rediculous.

Winning 19 games straight is impossible... I mean its not like a less talented version of the Patriots has ever won, say 21 games in a row before.

If they had then maybe we'd be justified as fans in hoping, dreaming and talking about it. But like you said, since we know that going 19-0, let alone 21-0 is impossible its stupid for fans to even consider it.

C'mon buddy - we're fans. This team could have given every opponent a 3 touchdown lead and given them a free field goal for good measure and would STILL be 4-0.

It's no more wrong to talk about the possibility of going 19-0 than it is to talk about the possibility of winning the Super Bowl. If you want to impress Bill Belichick by being as Spartan a fan as he is a coach, that's fine, but I don't think it matters one whit whether fans talk about 19-0 or not, as far as the team is concerned...

...So you might want to consider lightening up a little, and stop telling other fans what they can and can't talk about, otherwise someone might point out to you that the "impossible" feat of winning 19 games in a row, along with 2 more for good measure, was already accomplished by a less talented Patriots team a few years back.

Do you wear a helmet and pads while watching the game on TV?

I always find it extremely funny when I run across someone using post counts as a measuring stick.

Around here, it is usually the quality of the post/poster that is used as a measuring stick.

Thankfully, the highest poster at this board left recently to start his own site. Lots of posts, not much to say. Nobody misses him at all.

Well, officially I'm 327th on the Middle Linebacker Depth Chart. So if 326 guys get hurt I'll eat a slice of humble pie; but in the mean time...

What was I wrong about? You used his status as a Rookie in your post as if it meant something. I'm not saying your overall message is wrong, I just found it funny the way you went about it.

It's way too early to be getting into this...jumping way too far ahead...yes fans like to dream and many teams have..but it is very unrealistic to think that...EVEN with the team the Pats have. it is early YES they are pounding teams with fury..but there will be close games ( not worried about that as this team KNOWs how to win in those situations..lok at past years for that..even in 05 and 06..) injuries..(a REAL bugaboo..but like in other years, this team has depth..) chaotic finishes (this is one that can happen and it's not good..but not worried..)
It really HAS to be one game at a time..look an dsee that teh zero is there..but in overlooking games to see the mountains at the end, one may fall and stumble..
ANd I always see that many miss the games themselves..teh subtlties that are making this team GREAT!! To me THAT is what is missing...it;s almost like taking a plane somewhere versus a longer way that sees a lot of what is inbetween.

I think it is silly...THAT is my opinion..to me it's one of perspective, maturity and knowledge and if that is what one wishes to talk about fine..
It has NOTHING to do with political correctness..if one wishes to be silly..go for it...and no one has said that one can not..

I went to the HOF the Thursday before the Cincy game and they have an awesome exhibit of the "Streak". They have a ball with the scores on them and a little caption about the game.

I basically suggested that the guy chill out.

I don't know anything about the guy, since he is new around here. Therefore rookie is by far the most generic thing to say. If you want to extrapolate all kinds of stuff, that is your business.
