Suppose Pats lead 30 - 7 at half time vs the Jets next time they meet.

Do Brady and Bill act as they normally do, and lay off touchdowns out of respect, or do they do all that they can to blow the Jets out big time, resulting in a massive score by game's end?

Does the Pope **** in the woods?

Nope, they will just flip the bird to the world. :p

Good question. I'd say it's about 60/40 that they run up the score.

Hell yeah............ Patriots 56 -Jets 3 in December BOOK IT

Yes...Yes...Yes...and YES!!!!

They would definitely run the ball, but if they can run in a td or 2 they would. The last quarter would be all run.

Now my question is;
Is it running up the score if you can't stop the run, and they continue to score running TD's?

My dream scenario is that the Pats punish the Jets and Bill Belichick simply walks off the field without shaking Mangina's hand.

Actually what I would like to see is the Pats beat the Jets by 56-7. And at the end of the game BB walks up to Mangini and just gives him a long, cold STARE. Just stare down that ratfink until he gets uncomfortable and realizes that his hand is gonna keep hanging in the air until he nervously puts it away. Then BB turns his back on the rat that stabbed him in the back, and cooly walks off the field. Yeah I'd want ringside seats for that!

If the Pats could score 100, they would.

My humble side says no. We should respect the Jets and maybe they will respect and like us.

My vidictive side says, yes. If we are 60 points ahead with 10 seconds left and we have the ball, send Moss, Stallworth, Watson, and Welker deep for a TD pass and then a 2 point conversion.:rocker:

I suspect the Patriots will do what they always do - continue to call plays that will be mindful of how much time is left and what is most likely to work. I don't know that they will do any more "running up" than they've done to this point - which isn't much. The Pats could EASILY have scored 40 and maybe 50 in any of the first 4 games.

Say this, though, if BB doesn't go over-the-top, running-it-up-wise, when the play the jets, he never will.

I suspect that the Pats will not obviously and overtly try to run up the score if the game turns into a blowout. I also suspect that BB will shake Mangini's hand at the end of the game.

Unfortunately on both counts.

Are you that NAIVE?

Funny, I see the handshake business exactly the opposite. If the Pats win big again, Eric Mangini would dream of Belichick looking petty and ungracious, leading to a media flurry that takes some of the spotlight off the asskicking the Jets just received.

Dream scenario: Pats absolutely wallop the Jets and BB strides out, all smiles, to say "good game!" and give a nice, long handshake to a guy who looks like he'd rather be somewhere, anywhere, else.

The reasons for not running up the score were burned in the fires of hell the day Eric decided to run to the commissioner instead of simply telling the cameraman to stop. Eric made a huge mistake. His team is going to get embarrassed and he won't have any excuses. The NY media will shred him.

you can take that to the bank there will be no handshake

My dream scenario: The Patriots are up 35-0 at halftime. By the end of the third quarter it's 52-0, and Ratgina is curled up on the sideline in the fetal position, babbling incoherently. Trainers summon the motorcart and he's carried off the field, then transferred by ambulance to McLean Hospital in Belmont, where he is admitted for psychiatric observation.
