By looking at the threads that focus on the past four games and the upcoming game?

Right now, there is a grand total of 1 thread on the front page that is specifically about the Browns game.

There are at least 4 involving various ways to project the future, talk about it or not... including this one, the 2 "16-0" threads, and the "best ever" thread.

Well. That is the last time I ever compliment a Pats player on the internet ever again.

Quit being an ass and deliberately misreading my posts. I expect that crap from other posters here, but I expect better from you.

<< When the Patriots were leading the Colts 21-3 (I think it was) in last year's AFC championship game, my wife came in the room and asked what the score was. I knew at that moment that the Patriots were doomed. >>

Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

Seriously.

Don't the concepts of causation, correlation, and coincidence have any meaning to you?

Seriously, I'm having trouble responding because I have discovered that there is surprisingly little about the categories of apperception on the internet. I may have found a new hobby. I could be original author of the first expanded wikipedia article on the subject.

Just to be clear, it wasn't that she asked what the score was. It was that she came in the room and interrupted the viewing experience.

Oops. My bad, I should have googled "categories of understanding". Still not a whole lot written about them on wikipedia.

That's fine, I don't really have a problem with elitists on this site being caustic with with me, I wasn't crying because someone called me a name. I really couldn't care less, so don't straw man me like that. But it's annoying when you want to talk about something (gasp) in the future, and you get barraged with a bunch of parrots who have decided that it's unacceptable to talk about such forbidden things.

And yes, I did start the other thread but I also admitted that I mistitled it and really wanted to say I don't want them to go 16-0 if it in anyway hurts their chances of another SB. But it got clogged with a bunch of people who think the 16-0 talk is stupid because it will never happen. I find it highly ironic that people go out of their way to join a conversation that they think is stupid just to tell everyone how stupid it is.

Welcome to the site. Don't say anything outside of the 47 things you are allowed to say or you be attacked. A different point of view is not welcome here.

Truly however, I think you're greatly overestimating how many people on this board spout Belichickisms as gospel truth of their own opinions, and how many people believe their own individual actions have any bearing on the outcome of the game or season.

heavens forbid an American should consider emulating anyone intelligent

i've been practicing emulating herm edwards, but so far I've done nothing but confuse my co-workers and anger management for not doing anything remotely sensible in the last 5 minutes of every work day

Does anyone have the manual handy? I don't think this is listed among the acceptable responses.

For those who believe in superstitions and that they can influence game outcomes with the power of their thoughts and message board actions ......... why not pretend to be a fan of the team that the Pats play each week, go onto the message boards of said teams and writeup thread after thread about how they are going to dismantle the Pats. This way we can all be certain of an undefeated season for the Pats

I agree 100% that it's nonsense for us as fans to be "concentrating on Cleveland" and pretending we are not expecting a 19-0 season, but surely we can all agree that there are certain so-called superstitions that are absolute, solid 100% valid.

When the Patriots were leading the Colts 21-3 (I think it was) in last year's AFC championship game, my wife came in the room and asked what the score was. I knew at that moment that the Patriots were doomed.

I have been using astral projection in an attempt to heal Kelly Washington and for Brady to make him his #1.

I have also found that by drinking copious amounts of bourbon before, during and after the game that the Pats win. (at least this year) Sometimes this bourbon is consumed days before the game and brand, amount and glass type doesn't seem to effect the outcome in a negative way. I'm going to continue to enhance this successful superstition by consuming larger quantities to see if the Pats score even more points. Should this fail at any point this year, be certain that I will try even harder for the next game.

This thread is comical! Well said btw, Wildo. Sometimes that stuff is enough to make you want to never come back here. Condescension threaded all through the explanation.

I got ahead of my self once and I was looking at my own butt.

I'll never do that again.

What did you think? Are you staying in tonight?
