All this tells me that the Chargers were looking ahead to the pats. This upcomeing game Sunday has gotten into the Chargers head, not a good sign if your a Chargers fan. Lots of penalties for the bolts maybe. They may come in to hyped up emotionally and make mistakes they can't aford to make.

Okay, let's get some facts here straight for the Chargers fans:

1) Chargers fans suck. They couldn't even fill their stadium on opening day. There were as many Bears fans as Chargers fans.

2) A team from the NFC gave them a tight game -- at home! -- yesterday. The NFC sucks. For an example of how an elite AFC team ought to be able to handle a top NFC team, see Colts vs. Saints.

3) The Patriots beat theChargers last year in San Diego.

4) Next Sunday'sgame will be played in New England.

5) The Jets managed to beat New England last year. San Diego did not. The Pats obliterated the Jets yeterday. On the Jets home field, no less. And the Jets are a playoff-caliber AFC team.

6) The Bears beat up the Chargers (and vice versa) in a tough, physical game. The Chargers now need to fly cross country to play the Pats at night.

7) Is this the year that Tomlinson loses a step?

Sunday is going to be fun.

1. Yeah lump all Charger fans together because YOU think they didn't sell out.

2. Oh yeah I forget the Bears just suck right? I mean they just backed into the superbowl last year didn't they...

3. Actually the Patriots didn't beat the Chargers last year. The Chargers beat themselves. Just be thankful for the gift. Also, What did you all do with the gift? You still got beat.

4. Yep it's in New England what happened last time the Chargers were in N.E.? 41-17. Hmmm was that a blowout?

5. The Jets are a playoff caliber team? hahahahaha :wha:

6. Yep no argument here.

7. Nope. If you recall last year he started slow as well before he torched everyone for one of the best seasons ever for a RB. Wishful thinking. One thing though. It did take him 3 weeks to hit his stride last year.

any other questions?

Yes, I do have a question. Do you work hard at being an idiot or does it come naturally?

I will just respond to one of your assertions. Bear fans traveled to San Diego because it is such a wonderful city? It is a beautiful city, but lets face it. San Diego Charger fans are weak. It seems that every team that comes in there fills the stadium with their fans. Where else does that happen? Not too many places.

In regards to #2? Yes, they actually DID back in the Super Bowl...that's how the NFC gets in, or didn't you know that?

1) Were you there?
2) Nope, the Bears were a good team that we beat.
3) Of course we didn't beat the Chargers. Shawn Merri-man was a dominant force who would have saved the day had he not hurt himself practicing his little dance.
4) The last time the Chargers came to Foxboro to beat the pats, the Pats won the Super Bowl. Thanks for reminding me. Let's hope for a repeat. You win next week and we win the Super Bowl again.
5) They made it last year. Who says the Bears will make the playoffs? Are we using last year's record on this one? How did your playoffs go?
6) good
7) Yup, torched everyone until he lit up the microphone with is crying act. I guess he thought he earned a ring. Just remember, the Pats always start off slow. They are built for December and the playoffs.

Ummm ok. 13-3 is backing in? Um 2nd in points scored? 3rd in points allowed?

Man if you're a true football fan at least give credit where credit is due. They had a stellar season last year. They have an elite defense.

They were leading in the Superbowl going into halftime. It was good game. So please quit trying to deflate the defending NFC champs and inflate the Jets to be a playoff caliber team. Thats is just moronic!

You seem to be forgetting who beat them and their "elite defense". Between you and the Bears, you fielded a team of All-Pros. How'd that work out for ya?

Excuse me if someone has already stated the obvious. But I got to get this out before I bust a gut. A San Diego Charger fan posts on the New England site arguing about last years Chargers team being superior to New England. All we need now is a St. Louis Ram chirping about the Greatest Show on Turf.

If they had to play in the AFC, their record would be a little better than .500. Maybe 11-5 or 10-6. Chicago's offense is putrid. Yes, their defense is very good, but their offense can't win games for them.

In last year's regular season game against the Pats, they knew they were playing THE TEAM that would guage how good they were. After all, they were playing the 3 time world champions. I guarantee they were more "Up" for that game than any other regular season game last year.

Just like the Chargers get more up to play us than any other team this regular season!:D

You would think that after last year the Merri-mans would stop trying to talk their way into a win but unfortunately, they can't seem to help themselves. I believe it all starts from the top. lol

You really think all those Bears fans travelled to SD for the game? You know nothing about Southern CA. Its the same with Padres games...we get Cubs fans. They're called transplants. They live here, but are still fans of wherever it is they came from. We have a very mixed fan base here....it makes us stronger. Please explain how Chargers fans are weak? Weaker than Patriots fans? how about Patriots fans in the 80s and 90s? Get over yourself.

Thank you Dr Spock!

Ohhhh yeah please tell me how you dominated the Chargers last year. Please...

Weak, weak, weak....just like other sports fans in So. Cal. Because the local teams DO NOT SUPPORT THE HOME TEAM AND COULD CARE less...they allow transplants to buy the tickets (because the huge Charger fans do not) and overwhelm the charger fans in the stadium. THAT, is why they are weak....there should not be that may tickets available.

How does a mixed fan base make you stronger? By buying up all the tickets? Hmmm...that doesn't happen.

Well, I say NE fans are weak.....Pats and Sox. Weak, weak, weak! We "allow" other fans to buy tickets?....where are you from?...East Berlin? Other fans can buy tickets too. The season was sold out long ago and fans buy tix for when their team plays here. You dont know what it's like, because nobody in their right mind would want to move to NE. And it makes us stronger because we deal with homers like yourself.

A Fizzle fan dealing the "homer" card.
That's rich.:bricks:

Are you 12 years old? And, did you get permission to use Mommy's computer?

Tell me when, ever fans from another team are in Foxboro or Fenway park and drown out the home team fans? When? Never.

"It makes us stonger because we deal with homers like you". What point are you trying to make there. Really, can you break it down?

One more thing. I am curious...why are you on a Patriot board rather than a Charger board?

What is your point? That SD is a more desireable place to live? That people from other states like to live here rather than NE? I dont get it. Of course your stands are filled with home team fans......there is nothing else to do out there. Let's get off the fan issue and back to the game, shall we?

Ever year is a new year Chargers fans. Can't go by what happened last year or how either team looked or played back then. New year...different teams.

On the road the Pats looked solid and dominated an average Jets team. At home the Chargers had their issues with a good Bears team but did what they had to to win. New year, new and different issues for both. Guess we'll know more at or about 12:00am, 9/17/07 EST as to who's further ahead of the curve so far this year.

Because the local teams DO NOT SUPPORT THE HOME TEAM AND COULD CARE .
I'm sure you mean fans, but you got to take things into perspective. We have 55,000 season ticket holders in a 71,000 seat stadium. The Chargers ticket office has a waiting list for season tickets. Yet 16,000 tickets are available to the general public. It's not really our fans fault for 16,000 tickets being available to opposing teams fans, well 16k+ due to all the ticket brokers who love to mark up the prices of games, and it's not our fault that a lot of people move from dingy ugly cities to san diego or choose to vacation there and choose to go to the game.
