Malcolm Mitchell is the best rookie WR since...

We keep hearing about Mitchell's maturity off the field, and I'm convinced that it shows in his play, too. He doesn't have the on-field demeanor of a typical rookie. He always looks so calm, steady and in control, with excellent field awareness. It's easy to be optimistic about this guy.

He had two drops, but he's becoming a valuable pass catcher already who is versatile.

And can we please quit the deep passes to Edelperson? If he's WIDEopen, OK. But when he's on a go route or seam with tight single/double coverage, just stop it. Plenty of times this afternoon other guys were wide open and he's throwing deep to a well covered midget Edelman. I love the guy, but he isn't a deep threat and he isn't catching the ball over any DB.
Other than the one he did today?

Love ...love this kid and his attitude

Interesting that his locker's next to Brady. I mean, who the hell knows, but LaFell's was too and it didn't hurt in building that initial connection.

Got me thinking, as the normally garrulous Bennett left yesterday without speaking to reporters...he's probably still banged up, but...pretty invisible yesterday. Who's got the locker on Brady's other side? Move Bennett over there.

It was against the lowly Rams Bennett deserves to take it easy.

Watch Mitchel turning into our own AJ Green. Book it!

He reminds me of Moss/AJ Green.

Think its just the body type, but he runs excellent routes as well.

I live near Athens...GA Bulldog country so I watched Mitchell for years. Really good kid. He doesn't have the physical tools of Moss or AJ Green, but he has a good work ethic, is bright, and has enough tools to be a solid role player at the NFL level. He did have some injuries at UGA, so that may pop up again.

Thought this was interesting, don't know if it was noted before in the thread. If Mitchell averages 5 catches per game, he'll be #1 in receptions among rookie receivers with Brady.

Mitchell has 24 catches for 317 yards, so he is the fifth most successful rookie receiver with Tom Brady. Deion Branch (43 catches, 489 yards), Aaron Dobson (37, 519), Julian Edelman (37, 359) and Kenbrell Thompkins (32, 466) all rank ahead of him in each department. Mitchell has three touchdown catches, so he is one shy of matching Dobson and Thompkins from 2013.

Patriots mailbag: What's behind Malcolm Mitchell's unique success?

Best since dobson. I think he's more aggressive and less bobbly. He catches balls like a spider catches prey, he envelops the ball. I think I read that analogy before but it struck me. Huge hands snatch the ball.

I'm unbelievably hyped about this kid. Expectations wildly out of control, at this point.

I'm thinking 110 catches in 2018.

He's got nice thin hips.

OK...that's enough!...take a cold shower...

His college highlights are amazing

In my mind he looks good. Maybe my mind isn't that good anymore but when it comes to filtering BS it seems to be better than it used to be. I've seen a lot of BS flowing through WR, and Mitchell isn't that.
