Pats need to win out probably to get HFA

As long as we don't have to go to Denver in the playoffs I'll be happy. However I just don't see us getting by Oakland

There's a reasonable chance Denver doesn't even make the playoffs. They have to leapfrog Kansas City and Oakland to have a home game, let alone homefield advantage, but I suppose anything is possible.

we essentially need to make up TWO games on Oakland. I think that means we need to go 4-0.

EDIT: Math error sorry.

Kinda...if Oakland loses to Kansas City, there's more wiggle room than we previously thought. If they lose to Kansas City and Denver, they're out of the divisional picture. That's the kinda nice thing where we're at right now; with another two wins, we have the #2 seed wrapped up. Oakland, KC, and Denver are still in a dogfight to see who is #1, #2, #5 or out of the picture.

I'm sorry, but as long as this team has a bye and doesn't play in Denver, I'm perfectly fine going to Oakland or even KC.

I honestly think if the Raiders or Chiefs are the #1, they will get knocked off in the Divisional Round anyways, giving us HFA by default.

The Raiders are high powered, but as long as you can try to contain Mack (which is easier said then done, but look at what Belichick has done over the years against JJ Watt, or even Donald today), Brady should be able to win a shootout against them, home or away.

If this team can't beat the Raiders in the playoffs, they certainly won't be beating whoever comes out of the NFC in the Super Bowl.

We don't need the #1 seed or HFA in the AFCCG to win a title. We've got 2 Super Bowl titles that prove that.

What are you talking about?
We are tied with them. We don't have to make up 2 games.

Except for last year.... :(

Appropriate that the 2001 team was celebrated today. They finished by going 9-0 to finish with a Superbowl win. The 2016 Pats will finish 9-0 with a Superbowl win. Brady gets number 5

Denver.

Like I said, as long as we don't play in that house of horrors, I'm fairly confident.

I very must trust our team, GOAT QB and GOAT Coach over Andy "I don't know what time management is" Reid & Alex Smith or Jack "King of Penalities" Del Rio and the undisciplined and untestested Raiders.

yeah, what is I said is not exactly what I meant. If we both win out they get HFA.. If we both drop one they likely still get HFA. And my thought process was we are probably going to lose one more game this year. So basically we really need Oakland to go 2-2 the rest of the way because we are not likely going 4-0. So yes, I was wrong to say we are "2 games" back.. what I really wanted to say is we really need Oakland to not just lose one, but probably two games.

We aren't losing again.

the bills just put 24 on the raiders. people here are crying that we gave up 10 today...

We've really only lost one game this year and that was by 7 points on the goal line with a chance to tie against one of the best teams in the NFC.

(I'm not counting the Buffalo loss, which was Brady-less, Jimmy G-less, Gronk-less and had a rookie QB with a torn ligament in his throwing hand which needed surgery right after the game ended....)

We could just as easily be undefeated.

I don't know why so many here doubt this team.

Its what this fanbase does. If they don't win 37-3 or the Super Bowl they suck.

Oaklands got 3divisional road games left, wouldnt be shocked if they dropped 2 of them

OK. Obviously if we go 4-0, we only need them to lose one. duh.. I knew that. but what I was thinking was that we likely go 3-1 and if they go 3-1, they would still get the HFA... so basically I was thinking that we need them to go 2-2, so we can afford one more loss.

obvious that is not what I actually said at all. apologies to you all

Yea I'm very confident we go to the Super Bowl, now when it comes to winning it who knows, the Nfc looks like anybodys ball game and will come down to luck on the Nfc side

I am confident too. But I think playing the AFCCG at any of the AFCW teams on the road is completely undesirable. I still think Oakland will have to slip up enough for us to get HFA.
