Ok, the season starts tomorrow night. Time for the over/under. I'm setting it at 52 wins. Less would be a disappointment.

ill go with 55 wins. Adding Al Horford should balance this team out and get up a few more wins.

I just saw that the official o/u is 52.5.

I'll take the under, thank you. I don't see them hitting even 50 wins.
Their shooting sucks; they don't have a true Point Guard; they don't have a true Shooting/Big Guard; their Power Forward/Center depth is at least one capable body short; and their Small Forwards can't shoot either.
Otherwise, they're in great shape.

I wouldn't expect otherwise! :)

Tough question. I wish they had better three point shooters. it's all about making threes in that league now. Gun to my head i say they win 48 to 52 games. I would like them more if evan turner was still coming off the bench.

I really really like the way Rozier's shot looks now. I think he's going to take a giant step forward this year.

More wins than the Heat will have. That's what I'm calling.

how do you feel? did you feel about wade leaving?
Team is mediocre at best. I really didn't care about Wade. He's WAYYY past his prime. I hope he goes on to have more postseason success with the Bulls, but the Heat needed to start over again.

So far, the Smeltics appear to be what I thought they would be.

At some point this team will need to acquire a real power forward who specializes in defense and rebounding.
I can see Ainge trading Olynyk, a guard (not Thomas) and one of the Nets draft picks to get one.
Amir Johnson is a decent player but he's best suited to be a backup ...
you cannot play uptempo if your depending on your guards to grab a lot of boards.

Olynk is a lot more important to the success of the team than you think. But I do agree they need a legitimate power forward.

More than a quarter into the season....and this Celtic brand of hoop is unwatchable. With the exception of Bradley who I view as the only NBA "complete" player on the C's roster, the rest are castaways from the Island of Misfit Toys. Some are flawed. Others have major holes in their game. One does not achieve the value he is compensated.
This season, I feel like I'm watching the Rick Pitino NY Knicks team that just launched 3's all game. I realize Stevens is handcuffed with a bunch of big men whose only NBA value is decent long range shooting, but I honestly expected more creativity out of him. Instead, it's a guard-centric team that relies on Thomas/Bradley to carry the team offensively ...or kick out the ball to their big men 25 feet from the hoop.
This roster playing this style......no chance
Trader Danny took last year off and allowed his roster to settle in ....and 1.25 seasons later....it is pretty clear what this team is and it is abundantly clear this roster is not good enough to compete with the big boys. Ainge needs upgrades.

In the meantime, watching Smart, Olynyk, Green, Jerebko, Johnson play their game....not pleasing to the senses

I completely agree with the above.

Aside from Tyler Zeller & Amir Johnson, the rest of their big men do not play a big man's game.

They have a bunch of 6'1 guards who do not have point guard abilities and are way too short to be effective shooting guards.

As soon as Nerlens Noel is healthy, I would ask Philly if they would take our (not NJ's - that's Untouchable) #1 & the utterly redundant (and not very good either) Terry Rozier for him & Nick Stauskas,
provided that Noel can be signed to an extension of course.

I would then trade one of Olynyk/Jerebko for a legit 2/3.

And finally I would ****-can the putrid, less-than-useless Gerald Green.

Of course you would.

Halfway point. 26-15, on pace for 52 wins which was my pick at the start of the year. IT with another 35 points, average up to 28.4/game now.

And they're at 52 wins with 1 game to go.
