Red Sox 2016 Playoffs

Watching Farrell bungle his way through tonight makes me appreciate Belichick all the more. I'll never understand what went through his head that made him choose to pinch hit for Benintendi and leave Bradley in the game.

This wasn't unexpected, but still hurts since it's the end of the road for Papi. I'm going to maintain some delusional hope that if we need a DH next August, he might be persuaded to come back for a stretch run.

I like Ortiz as much as the next guy, BUT the whole ORtiz retirement tour especially the last week became a distraction.

The team lost focus and couldn't recover it. MAnagement made the season about David instead of the team goals. Imagine when Brady decides to hang em up. Think BB or the Kraft's would allow it to become a distraction from the Team gials? Would there be celebrations prior to the end of the season?

No way.

Oh well there's always next year. I'm happy for Francona. Would be an interesting WS between Indians and Cubs with all of the ex Sox in those two teams. I think I'll root for Cleveland although the poor Cubs deserve it probably more so.

Sorry but being ranked 21st in total runs allowed for the 2016 season, and having ****ty pitching should be something you should be blaming more than a "distraction." Allowing 5, 6, and 4 runs and getting swept showed Boston's pitching sucked and sucked all season. Wgaf if they had a nice September. It came back down to earth in the final week. That starting pitching flat out sucks. There is no other way to spin it. Overpaying for Porcello? Overpaying for Price? Trading for that piece of **** Pamaraz? Awful awful awful decisions in attempting to fix that starting rotation.

We all really should have seen this coming, their cute little 12-game run notwithstanding.

Over-paid, gutless starting pitching; not enough consistent power; and horrible in-game, day-to-day managing.

The Dead Sux are back. What a disgrace.

I don't think anyone is beating the Cubs team. Losing a WS is worse.

I have to be honest ... would have been nice to make it to the World Series but I did not expect it ... team still has too many flaws which I expect will be fixed.

I don't trust Dumbrowski to fix those flaws.

Didn't think things through, like these guys

With the Dodgers in the mix it is funny how many ex-Sox are part of the Final Four (players, coaches and front office).

There's something about this Dodgers-Cubs series...what is it...hmmmmmmmm...trying to put my finger on it...
th
The Cubs...versus the Dodgers...it looks like the Cubs against the Dodgers...

Yep. it's the Cubs versus the Dodgers. That's them all right.

Too bad I won't be able to recognize whoever is playing the Steelers this weekend.

I guess because we once played a home game in Birmingham, we have to look like we're from there forever...

Thank Ganja that 2013 happened; otherwise, this franchise would be a complete laughingstock.

sooooooo, it seems our fears are reality. Hazen gone (good luck to him) and now there is word the Sox might not fill the GM role. Looks like DD will run the show from hear on out. It's like it was when Lucky Larry was hear and ran Theo and Co. out of town. I actually think DD will bring in some power arms like he did with Detroit, but he could also destroy our farm system.

the off season should be interesting.

Can someone tell me again why the sox fired epstien

Theo & Tito had to go because of 2011.

Unfortunately, ownership did not replace either of them with anyone even remotely qualified for the jobs.
