Hey All,

Long time lurker but absolutely love these message boards. I'm finally able to make the trip from Western Canada to Foxborough this November to see the Patriots play live for the first time. I tried to do a search of the this forum for relevant threads but was unable to find anything recent.

Just a few questions for you Patriot veterans.
1) Any suggestions on what are must sees? I'm already planning on checking out Patriot Place etc,
2) What are the best places to purchase tickets? I'm coming for the Nov 13th game against the Seahawks, is stubhub the best choice or is there something else?
3) Since is a Sunday night game what time do tail gates usually start?

Thanks!

Official lots will open at 4:eek:o I believe. As far as things to do, how long are you staying and where do you plan on staying.

stay away from the redwing. unless you like a scallop plate that cost 30 dollars with 4 scallops in it and a mountain of onion rings so big you can ski off it. maybe it was a onion ring plate i had. overpriced and very small portions of seafood.

1) do NOT rent a car if you go to Boston. I'm not saying they drive badly, I'm saying you do. :) Seriously they drive offensively and you drive defensively. Fortunately I'm going to warn you away from Boston.

2) Unless you want history and museums with a side trip to Foxborough avoid Boston. If all you want are Good restaurants and stuff, Foxborough is actually closer to Providence, RI. They have good restaurants and stuff too and traffic is better - especially from the airport.

@Canadian Patriot

If you click on some of the tags above your post, they will lead to other threads on the topic... and some of those threads will lead to other threads on your questions etc.

Check those out; even the older threads still have useful information.

Hope that helps. Enjoy the game and enjoy your visit!

Boston is the best city in the United States.

I've driven in both Vancouver and Boston. You'll be fine.

If you enjoy history I would recommend the Freedom Trail tour. The one I went on was both humorous and informative. I enjoyed it.

Boston's Freedom Trail Walking Tour (<< Freedom Trail link)

Boston is a fun city to walk around in and is relatively stress free when compared to NYC. Good restaurants, sidewalk entertainers at times (not sure if in Nov) and historical sites.

Anyways enjoy your trip and game.

Fenway Park tour

Are you flying into Logan?

Make sure you have Ty Law's cousin with you to hold your stash as you cross the border:p:p:p

Wait...you don't have tickets yet? I'd have taken care of that long before booking the trip. Good luck with finding them because it's going to be sold out with it being a repeat of Super Bowl 49.

There's not much around Foxboro...it's just kind of large town. I don't know how long you're in the area for but if you have time, take the trip up to Boston to see some of the historic sites and to grab some authentic Italian food or Irish beer. Providence is much smaller but much closer to Foxoboro if you want to check that out. It's a cool little city but there's not a ton to see (unless you like HP Lovecraft, like I do).

I can't believe we still have open boarders....

:p

Have a good time @Canadian Patriot

I have to defend Boston here, if you come from Western Canada stay in Boston, it's a great city

Calm down. I am not attacking Boston. I said if you want historical sites or museums Boston is the best. If not it has traffic. ALL BIG CITIES HAVE TRAFFIC. BOSTON IS BIGGER THAN PROVIDENCE AND HAS WORSE TRAFFIC. BFD.

New York, Chicago, and L.A. are bigger than Boston and have worse traffic. Saying traffic sucks is NOT an insult, just an observation. Relax. (Although you will not find I95 North being the same road as I93 South outside of Greater Boston. :) )

If all he wants is to avoid traffic there are some good cheap motels on Rte One near the parking lots. Couple bar and grills too. Or just stay in Patriot Place.

The absurd idea that anyone who has never been to this region ever and may never be back should pick Providence over Boston for any reason simply had to be addressed publicly.

In the context of coming to the area for a pats game,

if you want to sight-see, the boston is where to go........if you want to just chill and and enjoy some good establishments and eat and drink, the providence would be better......between main street with mills tavern, parkside, and places like that as well as the usual federal hill stuff would be better

both have redeeming qualities

Absurd? Do you drive? Logan vs. Green alone, then there is traffic to and from Foxborough. There are plenty of reasons to avoid a big city if not looking for stuff that big city offers. Why is that controversial? Relax, Providence is not going to overtake Boston in anything but Mafia involvement. :)

Only a weirdo I can't relate to gets stuck in traffic in far awy cities for kicks. And please quote where I say he may never be back. :) Gee, did I touch a nerve. I didn't even mention the street were laid out by 16th century cows... that may have been high off of ergot poisoning.:)
