"1,717 Fans at the Colts' first workout Monday morning. Rose-Hulman officials called it an unofficial record for the opening practice since the team began training there in 1999, and about 500 more than attended last summer's first day."

I guess this is what happens when you win a Super Bowl...Great fan support.

I could barely get a seat at the Pats camp on Monday PM...

Have to give up to those folks; considering 1,716 of them didn't know the Colts existed before they won the Super Bowl, that is a great turnout.

What a combination; being a hayseed AND a bandwagon fan, doesn't get much better than that.

Hey, remember - it wasn't too long ago that 1700 fans in attendence at Bryant College would have been a record.

Bryant College is out in the middle of nowhere, I wouldn't blame people for not going there. I recall going a couple times; it was fun watching Tuna yell at guys.

With all the talk about offense vs. defense in the Pats' training camp, I can only imagine what it must be like for the Colts.

That offense against that defense...scary. They must score every other play. Maybe they make it fair by blindfolding Manning or tying the OL together.

As opposed to the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, only 75 scenic miles outside of Indianapolis? :)

Seriously, Indy is a small, small market.

I agree...we all know that the Pats have had the greatest support since day 1....no bandwagon fans here!...Parcells was lying when he said you could hold archery practice in the stands and nobody would get hurt!

Why do you insist on displaying idiocy at every possible turn? Parcells was referring to 15 years ago, BEFORE his first season here! The Patriots have sold out every home game since 1994 and came close to it in '93, Tuna's debut season with New England.

Terra Haute is in the middle of nowhere. Look on a map.

Based on your comment I compared the two camps. You pointed Colts' camp is about 75 miles outside Indy. Compare that to Bryant being 55 miles from Boston and 15 from Providence.

Parcells said that during the divorce...he said it was like that before he got here and he would like to think that he was part of the turnaround...are you one of those bandwagoners? You dont remember what it was like before the Tuna?

Why do you suppose they have "sold out" since 1994? Would the Tuna have ANYTHING to do with it?

Whos the idiot now, jackass?

What about all the pats fans from VT, CT and NH ? How far of a drive is it for them? Over an hour? 8000 plus people at pats camp. I guess that whole extra 20 miles caused 7000 less colts "fans" to show up:rolleyes:

It's a much smaller market in IND, there are way more people here, it's like comparing apples and... crabapples.

Half the midwest drinks the blue koolaid. Indy can pack there stadium, why cant they pack there camp? Indiana has a population of over 6 million people. MA has a population of a little over 6 million .Indy also has a lot of "fans" from other midwestern states. Just like NE has fans from places like NH, VT and CT. Indy is building a huge new stadium right? Excuses, excuses.

8000 at pats camp 1500 at colts camp after they won it all last year. Nuff said.

Seriously dude...look at a map. Where the Colts hold camp there is nothing near by. I'm guessing there is not much difference between the population densities of the East Coast and the Mid West.

And now you are comparing numbers with the Pats holding camp at Gillette? Btw, you are also comparing numbers of the Pats on a Sunday and the Colts on a Monday.

Re: O.T. Record attendance at Colts Camp - Funny

Remember the Bryant Camps having a lot of people there, otoh spoke to my bro in law a Minnesota Fan, he went to camp on Monday and said there were between 300 to 500, when I told him about our 8K over the weekend he was surprised, but understood(He is a closet NE fan).

It's a 3 1/2 hour trip to camp for me, each way. I go about twice a year - and have since before the Superbowl wins.

Big deal? People drive hundreds of miles from Maine, NH and VT to pats camp. So NE is more densley populated then Indiania. So what! How about we talk about how there is much worse traffic here which discourages a lot of people from goiong to camp. Cape traffic, sox games, road construction the list goes on and on. Density has nothig to do with it. NE fans are much more dedicated. The populations of both states are about the same. So indy is more spread out. Who Cares? What does that have to do with anything. Again there are thousands who drive from western MA, Maine , NH, VT, Springfield , Worcester etc etc. You think only people there are fans within 50 miles? The fact of the matter is Indys market is smaller because most of those 6 million people dont care about the colts. Well other then to spew nonsense since they became fans a few months ago.

Camps during the week still draw thousands more. There is a reason Manning refered to the fan support sox fans give there team. He said he wanted the same thing. Same passion is shown for the pats. To bad 50 people showed up to the parade in Indy. Lemme guess it was to cold? Waaaaa!!! Millions stood in the rain to see the sox parade. Milllions stood out in the cold for the pats. Excuses, excuses.

That is dedication. Good for you. The guys who sit next to me during the season drive 4 hours from Maine for every single game. I see people from places like NH and Maine all over the place at games.

Re: O.T. Record attendance at Colts Camp - Funny

I'll be commuting 8500 miles each way for at least one game this year.
