Dobson trade?

What?? Martin made some nice plays last year, some of which were called off by idiot refs. He won't light the world on fire, but he's a good consistent player.

Moreover he can back up all WR positions and KR/PR.

Therefore to me it was never a battle with Martin for Dobson more about how injuries play out and if they go with another WR spot. He is still not out but with Mitchell returning and Danny maybe activated it doesn't seem they have a place for him.

Most likely trade would be for a player the other team was going to cut. Basically, allows both teams to avoid the waiver process.

I hate posts like this. Deep threats can succeed in the Patriots offense.

You think steelers talented wide receivers wouldn't do well here? Steeler wide receivers are good because they are very good talents. The steelers WR scouts our better than ours.

Antonio Brown would thrive in our system. And Brady would have no trouble hitting a wide open 6'5 martavius Bryant 50 yards downfield
The Steelers draft exceptionally well at the WR position. Maybe we could trade Dobson for their scouting director.

Well patriots fans are getting there wish. I don't like the move. Dobson is finally healthy, he has size and speed, this team needs someone like that at WR. I was hoping we could give him a full season.

Either way, we chose the wrong wide receiver in the second round of 2013. Keenan Allen was there waiting and we made the wrong pick. Patriots wide receiver scouts seem to struggle with the NFL draft throughout the past 10 years.

Once again this team will be without a tall speedy outside WR. The search continues. Hopefully a lack of a tall deep threat won't cause our slower slot WRs to get jammed at the line of scrimmage like in recent playoff losses. A deep threat, even as a decoy, opens up the rest of the field. we don't have one. Lafells success in 2014 opened up a lot underneath for tight ends and Edelman and amendol

Exactly. Why cut a guy like this with the size and speed that we desperately need on the perimeter? You can only get by so long with Smurf WRs before defenses start closing the field on you. He deserves one more season...

Just for the hell of it....

Coates- too early to tell.
Archer-nothing
Bryant- very good
Wheaton- Pretty good
Justin Brown- zip
Clemons- zip
2010-Sanders- ELITE
2010-Antonio Brown- ELITE
2009- Wallace- Very good but meh now
08- Sweed- zip

Maybe we wont trade him
Because we are fielding calls doesnt mean we are trading him what about Dobson for a back.

And while you're at it, let's axe Dion and Amendola.
Umm let's not forget Brady he can't get on the field for 4 weeks, and when he returns who even knows if he will be any good with out the PEDs, air dramatically improves a persons ability to live...

Correct but its sure as hell a sign that he is a dead man walking.

what about Dobson for a back.

based on the expected quality in return they are better off watching the waiver wire.

another wr bust for BB
How many stud WRs were drafted at the end of the second round or later?

Green
Jones
Beckham
Bryant
Hopkins
Thomas
Cooper

These players were all first round picks. Dobson was not a bust, there are very few busts outside of the top 20.

It's unusual for the Pats to leak information like this.

Maybe Dobson's ears are the intended recipient of this rumor.
maybe or his agent is a dooch

...or maybe the leak came from the other end of the phone line. The more potential trade partners you talk with, the less control you have over information.

When you don't fight aggressively for the ball and go out of your way to avoid contact, size and speed are mitigated. Dobson has been one of the most frustrating players ever to don a Patriots uniform. This team has the worst luck with WRs, cornerbacks and offensive linemen I swear to God.

Dobson deserves one more season to prove himself. I'm tired of having no big, physical WRs outside the numbers.
