Last year Harper and Andrews made the team as UDFA, and Coleman joined the team in September from Seahawks PS.

Of the three, two played good football and one in particular (Andrews) could very well be a starter this upcoming season.

What about the last crop of UDFA?

I think Jonathan Jones is distinguishing himself and could beat an experienced guy like Biggers. Reporters are very high also on Bryce Williams, and since Williams and Harbor are out with injury he could grab a spot.

What do you think?

I think you've covered the obvious ones. It's going to be tough because there are a lot of other first-contract types (Coleman, Rufus Johnson, Harper, Tyler Gaffney, etc., etc.) pushing for places too. Provided injuries don't hit so hard again, cut-down day is going to be very interesting.

UDFA's who make this team and perform well are my binkies..

When I see Malcolm Butler on the practice field I smile.. what a great story that was.

I think it's Jonathan Jones but I also see D.J. Foster making a serious run at the roster due to lack of depth and some injury concerns at that position.

If early reports are any sign, Foster and Jones have the best shot.

I have been right the past two seasons (Butler and Andrews), but it's going to be hard to predict this season because the roster is loaded, and I'm waiting a bit longer before I make a declaration. Injuries and such should shake some things up and out as camp progresses.

How many players has BB sung praises of early and then cut them later? :D

Jones seems like the most likely pick. Foster makes sense.

Several members here were high on Jones and they appear to be correct so far. Seems like a guy who should have been drafted.

I heard on a podcast that Jonathan Jones was working with first team special teeams (kick coverage maybe). I think that that's a pretty good sign he has a good chance of making the team.

I'll be honest. I don't think there is an "unexpected" UDFA that will make the team. I think that we've become spoiled in that we EXPECT a UDFA to make the team each year. Because of how good BB and company have been at scouting out talent..

Jones.

Always amazed at how easily I get fooled by the draft every year, only to realize it's such a guessing game.

This got me thinking of some of the great undrafted rookie free agents in Patriots recent memory besides Malcolm Butler and David Andrews:
Adam Vinatieri (not quite so recent), Stephen Neal, Ben Jarvis Geen Ellis, Randall Gay, Kyle Love, Brandon Bolden, Ryan Wendell, Dan Connelly

If Amendola and Edelman start on PUP, CB V'Angelo Bentley makes it as the full-time punt and kickoff return man. Speeding bullet and as a CB, he has special teams, and depth value.

Binky alert!
