Peyton Manning "cleared" by NFL in HGH Scandal...

Actually the NFL* has been very consistent when punishing the Broncos.

When the Broncos admitted taping the 49ers walkthrough AFTER Spygate, they were only fined $100,000.
I never knew that!

Manning retired so who cares.
Honestly, if you are asking that question around here in dead seriousness I have major questions about your actual knowledge of all these situations. And I don't mean that in an insulting manner. I'm guessing you're just playing with peoples' emotions here or you've been in Outer Mongolia without Internet access, a phone and newspapers for a few years.

The NFL's media arm (ESPN) spinning the difference between Brady and Manning as the presence/absence of cooperation. LOL.
Of course they are . . . meanwhile, I think their stock fell a few more points. I really think the stench of being the NFL's mouthpiece is the reason why so many guys are having to leave. ESPN is losing value exponentially because I really do think the world sees the farce for what it actually is. The thing is they still hate Tom and the Patriots, so the outrage isn't overt.

I wish it were that. But it is probably just that their target audience looks to the internet now for sports news/entertainment.

I don't get the whole 'royalty since Archie Manning days' thing. Archie Manning was an awful, awful QB. IN a 13 year career, he has exactly ONE year in which he threw more TDs than interceptions. In 1983, he threw 23 TDs against 20 INTs. And that was his BEST year.

He's a second rate goober, and I have no idea why his son, fresh off sexually assault of a member of the Tenn training staff, was accorded automatic sainthood.

Yea i definitely don't understand the fascination with the family either, but its definitely there

Can I link this post in others message boards everytime this comparison between the 2 cases is brought up?

Sure, its not my best work but feel free to correct it for grammar or articulate points a little better.. i just typed all that out in an endless rant without much proof-reading lol

I could do a lot better.. but it would get so long that most people wouldn't bother reading it

This might not be over. While the NFL may take that stance, they don't represent or replace the FBI who along with the MLB are also investigating the allegations raised by the AJ report. Unless their sphere of influence reaches deep into the bureau, there is every likelihood that some of the anomalies might produce a different analysis and outcome than the black box NFL investigation.

Goodell and the owners have, I believe, a "sphere of influence" (kudos, man, that's a great term) that may very well bleed into government agencies. Honestly, before all of this crap occurred, I used to giggle at people who wore tinfoil hats. For crissakes, now I'm one of 'em...

Kenesaw Mountain Landis
I have a hard time comparing the Black Sox Scandal to the amount of air in a few footballs. However, many did perceive that Landis was over the top in his ruling, hence I suggested the Shoeless Joe Jackson name change.

The NFL lawyers and Goodell made that exact same comparison by name in writing during the Deflategate court case.

That could very well be. Either way I hope they continue to lose viewers/readers until they're no longer an entity (no matter how unlikely that actually is).

I just thought of something and had not truly put it into perspective until now. There was a quote by Goodell regarding the effect of air in footballs and the effects of PED's. He feels as though they are comparable, in terms of their effect on the game.

Forgetting Manning, that frog has already been kissed.

My point being, is the fact that all of the players asked to be interviewed, should, in comparison to Deflategate, be held to the same standards as Tom Brady, and receive equal punishment, meaning they each lose 4 games via suspension.

Each team the player represents is docked a 1st, a 4th, and docked $1 mill.

I might be missing something as far as penalties are concerned, however, isn't this the ideal that Roger has set for the rest of the league?

Of course, I realize that they have to comply to give up their phones at this point. However, he made the comparison long before Brady was told that his phone was not required by the Wells team. They should be held accountable.

The Patriots are being taken underground by the very Corrupt and Undermining Commish, wanting his blood for the masses regarding the Big Bad Patriots.

This has nothing more than to do with Goodell (Jets), vs. Belichick ( **** off, I quit via a table napkin apology). How many of those runts were wearing their Fireman Ed Suits ready to launch the JEST into the stratosphere behind the great gravy train that is, the Parcells/Belichick connection? All of Them!

How pissed off is Bill Belichick now? How pissed of is Brady? How pissed off is a guy like
Garoppolo? Nobody believes in them.

Welcome to Rodney Harrison 3.0: This is a team ready to eat families and lay waste to the young.

Football will be great this year. Bill will make it so.

Welcome to the whitewash. Was there any doubt of the result. I am just glad the the Pos didn't ask Kraft to turn over anymore draft picks

Now Manning wife can go back to using HGH in peace

I don't know but I wonder if Archie really made a name for himself being the announcer in New Orleans all those years. Just being around football and networking. Maybe he got with the "in" crowd?

I remember with the teabagging incident, Archie actually got reporters to not cover the story when it happened. And they didn't.
