Sally Jenkins Eviscerates Goodell in Washington Post

Goodell made 34-36M last year. Not 50M. 50M is his severance if they fire him before his contract is up.

If you think that getting Goodell fired is going to cost them that, then there is no hope for you..

It was a guess at his contract not his severance. I don't know why you feel the need to throw digs into the end of comments. It's beneath you.

What they should do is refuse to even sit at the bargaining table while Goodell is commissioner. Once Goodell was removed, they could negotiate without having lost any leverage.

They could stonewall but we know the history. The average NFL career is roughly four years. These guys want to get paid while they can and screw the future and those who come after.

Next time someone says that, be sure to point out that Vinatieri was 1 for 3 in Super Bowl 38 (against Carolina), missing chip shots from 36 & 31 yards. If he had hit those, the Patriots wouldn't even have needed that last one. They could have just run out the clock. Technically, his misses almost lost the game. :)
No one man wins or loses a Superbowl on their own...

oh wait, this guy did.. twice...

When I get the Pats Cheaters! screaming crap, rather than engage in pointless debate with facts, I simply shake my head and laugh responding, "You keep mispronouncing CHAMPIONS". Nobody so far has had a comeback.

In two separate calmer interactions with NFC team fans, we were discussing cars and they were car buffs, so I simply asked, "Do your car tires ever deflate in the winter?" Discussion ended.

That being said, the best ones are the ones who sit there and claim science can't explain how the footballs were deflated.. Despite you showing them the Amicus Curiae brief from the numerous professors..

Imagine how frustrating I feel engaging in such conversations, when they say that I am wrong, even though I tell them that I actually AM a chemistry professor!

I once made the mistake of making a pro-Brady post on a Colts board. Arguing with stubborn paranoid idiots is always a waste of time. They insisted I was full of cap even after I offered to send a private message to a board moderator, who confirmed that I am a professor by emailing me at my faculty address and getting a reply.

They just would have gone to their next phase of BS. these people need for Brady to be guilty. As to the why, I try not to delve into uniformed stupid too often. It's ok to occasionally visit, but it might be like hotel california if you stay too long.

The one thing my coworkers understand:

"The Billionaires Want Parity."

All the ribbing aside, working class fans understand getting worked over by by the man.
That's the bottom line and they have to admit it.

Wonder if this whole equipment issue will ever fade into the sunset, or will be talking about this in the nursing home??

The one thing we have learned though all this mess the NFL is not about the fan, players or the game, it exists solely for the bottom line or 32 billionaires..

I suspect that the next round of contract negotiations will be quite contentious..

Considering the league, not dim-witted, misinformed fans, but the league, is still bringing up camera location-gate almost a decade later, this story isn't going to go away.

Maybe more accurately, it's not going to go away for the Patriots. It won't have any lasting impact on the other 31 teams. For example, the Buccaneers could be caught tampering with footballs in 2018 and they'll get a $50k fine. The league and their media toadies will say it was "different" and not a big deal. All non-Patriots fans will accept that like it was a consistent and normal decision. We'll have a 15 page thread here complaining about it.
