Suspension-Gate ... You Know it's Coming

really?

actually it wasn't....I know it wasn't.....do you know why it wasn't? because its in a video as part of a commercial.......so while there may not be a million Bradys around, I'm pretty sure they didn't use photoshop to achieve the effect.

Ugh... sorry it was a dumb attempt at humor by me.

Tom might work out at the University of Michigan during those 4 weeks. He could throw to UM players, chat with recruits, and Harbaugh would love it.

I never, ever suggested it does. First, it was stated here in writing that I suggested the league would engage in wire-tapping, which I never did. Now, you state that I suggested the league would violate federal law, which I never did. What's up,with you guys? Why the need to embellish and exaggerate?
All I was doing was clarifying what is and isn't allowed. One of your posts mentioned they were capable of "spying on and monitoring his every move" which is extremely vague terminology. That statement could easily, reasonably be interpreted many ways.

Also, respectfully, one of your posts mentions that spying is "totally legal when the person being monitored is required to abide by certain restrictions in regard to personal contact." But that isn't true. There's nothing about being suspended by the NFL which gives the NFL the authority to commit a criminal act.

One thing is for sure, who Brady talks to and about what will get a lot more scrutiny than when, say, Antonio Gates was suspended.

I was trying to think of how the league has dealt with other situations where parties should not be communicating. One situation is tampering with free agents. That's handled differently from team to team. If the Jets are involved, they can do what they want without much of a penalty. If it's the Chiefs, they're paying a price.

The other situation that comes to mind was when Peyton Manning and Adam Gase met with Nick Saban in 2014. This was during a period of the year where coaches and players were not allowed to meet and discuss football. Everyone involved denied any formal football discussions took place between Gase and Manning, the league accepted their explanations and nothing further came of it. What happens if, hypothetically, Josh McDaniels wife's birthday is in September? Can Brady call the McDaniels household to wish her well? It sounds ridiculous, but Goodell is on record that he doesn't find Brady credible, so something as innocent and inconsequential as that could be painted as impermissible contact if the league found out about it. Brady should either be a hermit for 4 weeks with any coach/teammate or have a third party present for all conversations to verify that nothing football related was discussed.

************ Almighty, are you just continuing to be obtuse or are you just f###### stupid? In all honesty, I'm guessing it's the former, but it very well could be the latter. Who TF said anything about a criminal act? This is at least the third instance of you and/or your compadre outright lying about what I and/or others have posted. Look, as Michael Holley so correctly noted on this subject this afternoon, Brady's biggest mistake in all of this was underestimating how adept Goodell and the NFL are at "smearing people and playing dirty." They'll do it again, too. I'm asking you and your nitwit pal to stop denying the NFL's inclination to do that and to also stop doing that to me. You look like jackasses.

I think I'll pass, but thanks for being a Grammar Nazi on a Internet messageboard. The superintendent at your day care must be impressed...
Here's a suggestion: see post # 106 and then go bone yourself... Oh, and that's "an Internet" not "a Internet"...

I was really thinking about that yesterday. If he is allowed to join a college program for a "football clinic" he could get some quality camp instead of throwing the ball to Welker or TO.

Why are you so upset right now? All I did was clarify what would be and would not be legal with regards to spying/monitoring another individual. I didn't put any words in your mouth, nor did I even disagree with anything you said.

I clarified what would and wouldn't be legal because your terminology that they would be "spying on and monitoring his every move" is ridiculously vague.

I don't think I've ever seen someone so completely fly off the handle at another individual who didn't even disagree with them.

Here's a suggestion: log off, exit your mother's basement, get some fresh air and realize that getting a "1up" on a Pats board through grammar control doesn't get you anywhere in reality...

Nice try though. Your attempts at condescension are funny.

Disagreeing is to be expected, and accepted. Outright lying isn't. Bye.

See post #111. Oh, and my mother died 2 years ago. Nice touch.

What exactly are you trying to achieve here bud? 'Ahh look, I spelt a word wrong!' Am I supposed to feel some sort of shame? Does that get you off or something?

LOL get a hobby dude...

"Dude", it's "spelled", not "spelt." There's no such word as "spelt." Your hobby should include a dictionary..."Dude"...the more you write, the more guilty I feel about whipping your sorry ass...Oh, wait...spelt IS a word....it's wheat eaten during the Bronze Age...God, you're an idiot...

Hey look, you're full of ****
Spelled vs. spelt - Grammarist

You're now in full blown troll mode.

Congrats, you've derailed the thread with your stupidity....

It's sweet to see your "Funny" and "Winner" responses to your honey's posts. You're a good, obedient little boy...

In one of Brady's documentaries, they talk about how he feared somebody was going to come from behind and "take it all from him" as it relates to his success and what drives him.

Well that boogeyman is Roger Goodell. He's trying his hardest to take away what Brady loves most.

I'm not acting like that at all, nor do I believe it. Did you actually read what I've wrote, or did you pick and choose to try and fit it into your narrative?

Yet still, none of what you're trying to say has anything to do with the actual subject at hand in this thread or of which I've been quoted.

Like I've said several times now, and feel free to poo poo it some more with paranoid nonsense, Brady can and will be filled in with any relevant information peretant to him throughout the four weeks he'll be out.

There's this thing called 'talking', the NFL can't stop no matter how hard you think they control everything, they especially can't stop talking from a second hand source, as in a mutal friend of Brady's teammates and coaches.

But please, carry on with the "NFL is the boogeyman" scenarios, they're pretty funny...
Brady cannot have any contact with the team. If he does he will be suspended for longer. If goodell thinks he did he will suspend him on more likely than not grounds. If Brady makes comments critical of goodell, goodell will make up a suspicion and fine him guilty, suspend him and arbitrate the appeal himself.
The NFL is on record saying 4 games was lenient and it could have been 8. If jimmy G wins week 1 and 2 goodell will be hatching his generally aware 2.0 plan.
