BB needs to trade for a RB

Why does everyone overlook Gaffney? I'm not saying he's definitely going to be good. He was drafted late in the sixth round and has been hurt both years that he's been in the league. That said, his combine numbers are better than Dion Lewis even though he's 4 inches taller and more than 25 lbs heavier. If the kid can stay healthy, he may become a productive back.

Tyler Gaffney 5'11" 220 lbs
40 yd dash - 4.49
Verticle - 36.5"
Broad - 116"
3 cone - 6.78
20 yd shuttle - 4.18
60 yd shuttle - 11.36

Dion Lews 5'7", 193 lbs
40 yd dash - 4.57
Verticle - 34.5"
Broad - 112"
3 cone - 6.90
20 yd shuttle - 4.18
60 yd shuttle - 11.39

He wins in every category except the 20 yd shuttle in which they tied.

can someone explain to me Belichick's thinking here? For the past 3-4 seasons we've needed a feature back to take the load off of Brady. Ok, free agency came and he didn't sign anyone (except bringing back blount). Then we said "ok, bill is going to get an RB in the draft." Then he doesn't draft one. I can't understand this.

Blount, Lewis, Develin are all back and hopefully stay healthy. They were all HUGE losses. Add the fact that two guys from the Super Bowl win was starting on the Oline in the AFCCG, so we had 60% from out Super Bowl Oline either on IR or retired. Hopefully these guys can stay healthy, add the return of Scarnecchia. I think we will be fine, just have to stay healthy.

In 2012 Ridley ran for 1200 yds
In 2013 the running game was good
In 2014 they won the SB
In 2015, before injuries Blount was on a pace for close to 1000 yds and Lewis over 500.

Like you I'd like to see a little more running of the football as a) opens up play action and b) less hits on a 39 yr old QB but I don't think a feature RB is a necessity to accomplish those goals.

Blount is fine but vs big, fast defenses he he is very average. I'd like to see a player with a little more suddenness to his game that doesn't require 2-3 steps to be effective

Hes overlooked because he is a IR waiting to happen.

Next year will be the year we draft a RB high i think. Probably with our 2nd pick unless someone at 32 there is a big time player.

I like RB but it is so hard to find a RB that can be good for 8-10 years and be a difference maker for all of them which is what you want in a first or second round pick.

when blount and lewis were healthy last year we were lethal...if they are healthy we should be great at RB. im assuming BB believes they are healthy, thus ok at the position

I blame Bob Kraft <--- quote this if you are down and agree Bob should have sued the NFL what a pathetic ***hat with no spine

I knooooow. Smh... what's the point of talking about football anymore? #integrity #notforBob #Footballisruined #IhaveKraftsfaceonadartboardinmyroom

A good poster. Guys, DAE think Bob Kraft is a bad owner?

FTFY. :p

If you'll notice, in my original post I noted his injury history. BB hasn't written him off yet, so it seems premature for posters to write him off so completely. If he remains healthy, which is certainly a big if, I think he has potential to be a good RB.

I think all those guys will be migrating over to the new Manning HGH thread for a while. So you'll have to ask them over there.

Is Tyler Gaffney the Jake Bequette or RB's???Every year someone says he's the second coming.

Outside of the Jamal Charles pipe dream, the only trade candidates I've really seen mentioned are Knile Davis and Bishop Sankey.

So basically, I haven't seen any realistic trade candidates that clearly make the team better.

Jimmy G has plenty of weapons. In that respect, it's Matt Cassell 2009 all over again.

If his teammates let him down, it will be the OL. The other offensive skill positions are fine.
Matt cassell had the best offensive line in the NFL in 2008

BB is smarter than you and whom is there that would be an upgrade?

I wouldn't draft Easley...

I always find it amazing that people crap on how the O-line was last year but ignore the fact that every single one of the 10, outside of David Andrews, was injured with several ending up on the IR.. And by injured, I mean, they missed games. Please note that this doesn't include Kevin Hughes or Caylin Hauptmann who were IRed before the start of the season.

Solder - IRed - Missed 14 Games (including 2 play-offs)
Vollmer - Missed 2 games.
Stork - PUP - Missed 6 games
Fleming - Missed 4 games
Cannon - Missed 4 games - Turf Toe
Waddle - Missed 3 games (including 2 play-offs)
Kline - Missed 2 games - Seperated Shoulder
Mason - Missed 2 Games - Knee
Jackson - Missed 5 games (including 2 play-offs) - Knee
Wendell - Missed all but 2 games.. Sickness then Knee

With a healthy O-line, this team does what it did in the 1st 4 games last year.. Not what it did in the last 12.
The Interior battle is going to be interesting. Particularly with the additions of Cooper and Thuney..
