this is not a let's bash Robert Kraft thread, but it baffles me why the Patriots did not sponsor their own independent findings last year about air levels in the footballs. The corrupt NFL did so but would not release the data as it would verify that balls deflate in cold weather.

Kraft should have had 3 independent big name university's conduct tests at every Patriots game last year. The test results should have been released to the media or on a 60 minutes piece and put the NFL on the defensive and once and for all proved that the balls deflated due to changes in temporature. Why this wasn't done is beyond me. To late now. Brady is suspended and Goodell won.

it's for the better of the 31 that the Patriots take it up the ass.

integrity
Better for the 32. Let's stop pretending he's one of us.

i'm not condemning him, just that we (I) can't relate to his issues. While I think the issue is fairly black and white, I imagine people at that level can try to make it out to be something more complex. It isn't at the heart of the matter, right is right and wrong is wrong.,

But, RK doesn't live in out world he lives in theirs and our concerns aren't his. Call it billionaire peer pressure and he caved like most people would.

Bob Kraft SHOULD have done something legally hopeless and wildly unpopular with his peers. He would have won my undying respect.
The "peers" that refused to support him when his franchise was innocent?
You care that it is unpopular with them why?

I'm not sure I understand your question. I want (wanted) him to actively defy them/piss them off instead of folding and kissing their behinds.

Why didn't our local media do that? Goes to show the bloviators aren't interested in real data.

Is this thread a joke?

Seriously I just wanted to get a dislike from QuantumMechanic ... he's stomping his feet again.

Can't we just get a sticky for Kraft venting? We're coming up on the start of the next season and the 3-5 weekly Kraft bashing threads are gonna start detracting from actual stuff to discuss.

It will never end ... going to be like crop circles.

Doubt it would have mattered, compared to the mental gymnastics it took to get to this point that would have been like a hop over a puddle.

Not only that, but he should have put up a huge stink in the NFL itself. Threatened Roger's job; called for his resignation; publicly denounced him as a traitor after all the support Kraft has given him; stated out loud how nobody can trust the NFL process if this is how things are going to go down; insisted on a neutral arbitrator.

There is so much he could have done. Instead he just sat back and hoped it would all come out all right without hurting his pocketbook, then whined and said he did it for the fans (did what exactly, Bob?) when it was obvious the fans were blaming him too for the railroading of Tom Brady. Wuss.

Okay. First, the local Boston media are among the enemies. Have been now for generations.

Second, as has been pointed out before, Red had no problem identifying his (our) enemies, and plotting counterattacks, never mind defenses.

Robert is clearly getting some new experiences dealing with unscrupulous, malevolent and corrupt people whom he thought he could trust. His huge error was his non-response to, and failure to learn from, the videotaping farce in 2007. Practically the entire world therefore believes that the Patriots "cheated" in some way not only in 2007, but for years before. While I have advocated elsewhere in this forum for him to be given compassion, Robert personality-wise will never be equipped to deal with this [and there is still time to deal with this], thus I believe he needs to acquire legal and public relations help and support, which is out there and available and would be worth it if he seeks it.

Kraft bashing is a politically correct (for Pats fans) way of venting frustration, even when we (and, by "we, " I mean "I") say stuff that we know is, well, kind of irrational, like suggesting he should have announced in San Francisco that he was going to sue the League. Of course that was never going to be viable, but it's a safe way to voice frustration.

Let's face the facts. We can't say things like:

Damn it, Tom, it was a really dumb idea to destroy your phone even if Wells told you he didn't need it any more. Didn't you realize how bad it would look even if it represented a completely innocent activity?

Damn it, McNally, you knew that doing anything but taking the balls directly to the field from the Officials' room was a violation of game day protocol and that the Patriots have a target on their back every Sunday. i don't care if you were only in there for 100 seconds and you had to take a piss that was so wicked you were going to wet your pants. Why didn't you just take them to the field first even it mean you had to change your clothes?

Damn it, Tom, McNally, Jastremski even though we all believe that your text exchanges were completely innocent didn't you realize how bad they would look if all of a sudden you're exchanging text after text when normally you hardly ever have any text contact with each other? And, the whole "deflator" thing didn't help things much either...

So, we continue to bash Kraft because even suggesting that any of the other principals in this whole mess made very serious errors only gets you flamed...which I am expecting to happen to me in...
