Just for a second consider the 2014 draft and Malcom Butler. If the draft was done over, he would be drafted in the first round, maybe in the top 15. This makes him the biggest "draft" steal for the Patriots since Brady.

Respect to you, Fred. But I have to disagree. Though you put the word in quotation marks, it can't be considered a draft steal if the player was not actually drafted. In fact, BB had to be convinced to put Butler in the final 53. That means the Pats also passed on him and still almost cut him in top of that. But I agree with your sentiment completely that we found a diamond in the rough. We got lucky more than anything else.

I'd say the biggest steal since Brady on actual draft day is Gronk. Hernandez would have been given consideration there as well, as both TE's could have easily been first-rounders had they not each had their respective red flags. Ironically, the red flags kind of proved correctly for one and absolutely correctly for the other.
