Suspension-Gate ... You Know it's Coming

He can hire a private training staff right? Maybe he can throw some balls to Moss and TO.

Brady can do anything but...

A) Be at the stadium
B) Practice with the team
C) Communicate with any member of the organization electronically
D) Supervised workout or meeting on/off prem by a team employee

He can't even meet Dorito Dink for a beer.

Maybe BB could have all the players wear #12 at practice.......with helmets on it might drive Goodell's goons crazy.......with an added bonus of opposing scouts being totally confused about personnel groupings :D

I feel like this is such an underrated piece of the punishment. Brady not being able to be at the facility, communicating/practicing with his teammates, and just being the leader that he is in the locker room is a huge detriment to the team.

Is this the case for any suspended player or just players that have been deemed of "violating the integrity of the game"?

I want Goodell to die so badly.
I have a feeling that Tom will have plenty to say during Training Camp.

Does this prohibition extend to prisoners?
Serious question:
Is there a formal definition of "Prohibited contact?"

Is he allowed to text or call friends on the team as long as he isn't part of game preparation, or is any contact whatsoever prohibited...or is this just something else that Goodell can make up as he goes along?

While such contact has never been scrutinized for suspended players in the past, you can bet that the league will discover a new set of "clarifications" to that rule in this case (ex post facto, of course).

thanks, that answers the question I asked above.

So, basically, to be safe, Tom should mothball his cell phone and shut down his social media accounts for four weeks and hang out with his family, trainers, nutritionists and a couple of former players in Costa Rica or California? Not ideal, but not Walpole either.

I find it very hard to believe Brady will be out of the loop for four whole weeks.

Doesn't take much for a coach or Edleman or Amendola to go through a mutual friend in order to get Brady whatever information he needs to be prepared.

I wouldn't worry. Come game five, Tom will be all ready to go.

In that case, stand by for a further 8 game suspension.

The stupidest thing they could do would be trying to skirt the no-contact rule.

Doesn't he have a place in Costa Rica? I hear September's a nice time to visit.

Yeah because a mutual friend visiting Brady and relaying information will totally get him in trouble...

Ever since the NFL installed those mind-scanning devices, it's been really tough for suspended athletes to get away with getting information passed down to them through various ways. I bet they'll read Brady's mail too.

Because we've all seen that the NFL would never, ever act without overwhelming evidence of guilt.

He won't have to try to skirt it. The wording of the rule has enough ambiguity to allow them to widen the net enough to screw the Pats once again. Like someone said, Tom will need to go into full exile to avoid another setup.

Anyone not prancing through fields of flowers with fluffy unicorns has to be concerned that the NYJFL owners and front office are NOT finished with the "they win too much" Patriots. No matter how closely BB follows the rules, idiotic contrived and orchestrated witch hunts like too little psi can spring from fevered minds unannounced. With their mainstream media operatives with bylines and broadcast studios, the most ludicrous accusations imaginable can be made to stick.

It makes me wonder if Brady can go workout with another team like the Houston Texans. I am sure Houston could protect their playbook and game plans while Brady could get some reps in at practice throwing the football. Of course it would raise another hue and cry that Brady cheats again, Houston and Brady would draw the ire of Goodell and his henchman. Not that it will ever happen but I would love to see the look on Goodell's face if it did.

Maybe he reaches out to Megatron or Tony Gonzalez to have a little fun while he is suspended. Maybe Brady could hold a passing camp for NFL hopefuls. I can imagine that there will be plenty of receivers that get cut during training camp and preseason, that would love to hone their skills with Brady in the hopes of hooking up with another team. Maybe he could find a few that the Patriots might like to take a look at when Brady has finished his suspension and is able to talk to the team again.

On the bright side, we get to see how Garappollo does. Is he the heir apparant or just a pretender? We probably will get to see more of Brissett and what he can do as the back-up. There is 4 games less wear and tear on Brady's body. Barring injury, he should be fresher and stronger for the playoffs.

Then there is the scenario of what happens if Garappollo does really well. What if he goes 4-0 or 3-1. Does Bill make Brady his starter again after his suspension ends or will he wait. Could this be similar to what happened with Bledsoe.

I'm not going to argue with you on the fact findings of Deflategate.

Point of it is, one team pointed the finger at another team, in game, and there was "evidence", that at the time, seemed suspicious.

There's no way the league is going to send a spy to follow Tom Brady to watch and listen to conversations he has in own home with mutual friends, that may or may not, have information regarding the Patriots, told to this mutal friend by Brady's teammates.

Let's not overthink this here...
