I just wanted to post a huge THANK YOU as I received a bunch of donations from many of you recently, which is greatly appreciated. As a result, one of the things I had been saving up for was to jack up the RAM on both servers, which thanks to those of you who contributed I'm now going to be able to do. I've already put the ticket in requesting it, so that will be happening very shortly as the goal is now to have them do it before camp opens next week. I'll update everyone once I hear back as we'll probably be down for a bit while they perform the upgrades, but this was a big cost that should definitely compliment the solid state drives that were installed a few months ago and will most certainly help avoid any issues during big traffic spikes moving forward

In the meantime thank you all again, I definitely couldn't have this without you :D

Back atcha, Ian! I'm happy to do my small part. I only wish I could do more. In the long run, what I can donate is wonderfully offset by the amount of return from this wonderful site. The football information, Patriots information, and the level of both discourse and football IQ on display here is always amazing.

It's a great place, and I feel fortunate to be some small part of it.

You mean that donation didn't go to the Roger Goodell executive compensation fund? I want a refund! ;)

Thanks again for your hard work, it's a great community here and the effort is very much appreciated!

I've got a call into Ted Wells to investigate Ian's use of hard-earned Patsfans money to "jack up his RAM."

I'm pretty sure that was Ian who blew my doors off on 495 driving this thing:

Thanks again Ian for all your efforts.....If this isn't the Number One rated fan site on the Internet..

IT SHOULD BE !!

Thanks, Ian. Happy to pitch in.

Ian,

Dittos on the ' No, thank you' responses above.

I've been meaning to donate for a long time but just been lurking on the payment side like I do on the posting side. But I finally had to pay for all the joy and venting opportunities you have given me over the years.

Only one complaint though, I had to fib or fudge on your address system a little because it didn't have an APO address loaded in the state codes.

What a lot of vendors don't seem to get is that although APO/FPO addresses get delivered overseas as far as the USPS is concerned they are stateside addresses. Because the USPS delivers to a military transshipment point (NYC or Dover, DE for most Army Europe (AE) addresses), there are no overseas shipping costs involved. The Govt/military pays or coordinates for the overseas delivery part (from the handoff/transship point onwards). FedEx definitely tends to have a problem figuring out where that stateside handoff/delivery pt is, but USPS does not.

I'm sure is not your system, but hopefully it will still work and/or you can ask the vendor to fix for future servicemember patriots fans. If not working for me, I'll survive without the tshirt I guess. Thanks again.

Great job Ian :D. ... now if we can just get the Herald to get their site up to PatsFans level. I have the worst time loading anything there. :(

No kidding, and it's definitely something on their end because none of my devices seem to be able easily navigate anything there.
