The headline of the piece is:

Why Roger Goodell, not Tom Brady, is Deflategate’s real loser

A choice quote:

Brady will serve an arbitrarily issued four-game suspension to open the season because that’s what is best for his team: It’s smarter to go to training camp next week without any lingering uncertainty or risk of missing crucial late-season games. No doubt it’s easier for Brady to accept because by now he knows that in practical terms and the court of public opinion, he won. Zero evidence showed he ordered anyone to deflate footballs in the 2015 AFC Championship game, and a legion of scientists proved what anyone with a car already knew — that cold weather causes air pressure to drop in footballs the same as it does in your tires. A seventh grader’s schoolboy experiment made fools of Goodell and his underlings in the league office.

Her article gives a great insight to part of the reason behind this irrational vendetta (emphasis mine):

"A commissioner who was fit for the job would have ended Deflategate within a week. He would have announced that there was no way to fairly evaluate “the preponderance of the evidence” because the NFL’s protocols for handling game balls were so lax that officials had failed to record the inflation measurements in pregame. ... He chose to pursue a bad case as a referendum on his hanging-judge authority. Shamed and reversed on so many mishandled issues, from Bountygate to the Ray Rice domestic violence case, he needed a win more than he wanted to do right. He turned the commissioner’s office into a sandhill."

Sally proves once again, and likely for the final time, how she has more intestinal fortitude and balls than virtually every media member in NE.

Can someone explain to me how CHB is getting into Cooperstown?

another gem from her. I hope she writes a book about all of this and really nails shut all of the questions and doubts regarding how incompetent Roger Goodell really is.

I'm am so glad there are people out there, with no connections to the Pats or TB, that have a venue and the balls to put this out there. Unfortunately many people only watch the MFL's butt boys, the MFLN and BSPN. But the word is definitely getting out there and some wont let it die. And as GoToHells reign slowly tries to destroy their climb to success, other teams owners, players, fans... , will start to understand that what the NFL and their cronies spew, just might not be the TRUTH! In due time, the MFL will pay for this BS.

Not sure why but when I click on any washington post article there is no vertical scroll bar for me, anyone know why this might be happening?

Different browser worked but I don't really relish the idea of having to dust off internet explorer every time I want to read a washington post article ugh. The vertical scroll bar will literally appear upon the initial load of the page and then disappear for me on chrome, so weird.

While I love Sally Jenkins and wanna marry her, I actually disagree with this tiny excerpt from her:

No doubt it’s easier for Brady to accept because by now he knows that in practical terms and the court of public opinion, he won.

IMO Brady lost in the court of public opinion. Pretty much 99% of non-pats fans think he's a cheater.

I don't get that either, but this might make things a little more bearable (from Wikipedia about the Spink award):

"Winners are not considered to be members of the Hall. They are not "inducted" or "enshrined", but are permanently recognized in an exhibit at the Hall's library."

Whilst I agree with Sally Jenkins and have done so all along (outside of the court of public opinion comment), what's the point? The owners, being money grubbing bastards, haven't fired his candy ass yet. Goodell is a ****ty commissioner? Yeah, we know that.

The guy is being paid an exorbitant amount to be an incompetent fool sucking the life out of NFL enjoyment. Who suffers? Not Goodell, not the owners, but the Patriots, the Saints, the Dolphins and their fans (not so much Miami). What's done? Nothing.

If Smith and the NFLPA have any ****ing balls, demanding Goodell's resignation will be the first tabled item in CBA negotiations.

I ask that myself sometimes - why hasn't Goodell been fired yet? He's been so wrong on so many things and yet he only gets praise from all the owners (including our backstabbing owner). But after seeing how many owners were all for Brady and the Pats getting their "just desserts" for something they knew was a sham, I realized its because Goodell is doing what 90% of the owners want him to to: Punish the Pats and let their team have a chance to win. It takes 24 owners to fire the commish.. unfortunately it seems only 1 wants him fired. The other 31 are just ecstatic about how they put the evil cheating Patriots in their place.

Chrome and Firefox. Or even Aviator.
