A Letter To Roger Goodell From A Patriots Fan

You claim to be protecting the integrity of the league, but everyone with half a brain knows that’s complete and utter ********. The integrity of the league went out the window the moment Greg Hardy got the same punishment as Brady for beating the **** out of his girlfriend, throwing her on a bed full of assault rifles, and threatening to kill her. You are implying that PSI’s in a football are as serious an offense as domestic abuse, running from the police, and endangering the lives of children. And for that, Mr. Goodell, you are a ****ing piece of ****.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Brilliant.

Why would you waste your time? He couldn't care less about Patriots fans or any of "our fans" really think or wants. That's just pablum to feed the media and the imbeciles who subscribe to their lies. He cares about sycophantically serving his masters and worshiping at their golden altar, that fatted calf known as the National Football League.

I have to agree. Want to hurt Goodell and the 32 around him? Find a way to dramatically cut into their profits. It's all they care about and it's the only way to truly get their attention. Bottom line. If Goodell read the original post, he might chuckle and then chuck it in the trash with a sigh. At best.

The runner up is forcing to testify in front of Congress and attempting to give a rational explanation to his irrational acts.

I don't think it was intended for him even though the headline specifically says it is. I think (or like to think) this is a rallying cry of sorts for Patriots fans who may be feeling the same way as the OP. Sort of a venting letter rather than an actual petition. Of course the Dictator wouldn't read an actual anything or give it the time of day. He probably can't anyway.

Goodell has a member(s) of staff read all the thousands of mail/e-mails they receive and he probably only gets a handful sent to him each week. In the last couple of years i'd bet he hasn't read 1 piece of mail from anyone who doesn't like how he's handled Deflategate.

This just looks like one of those letters you write to vent. I don't think he expects Goodell to read this. So fair enough to the writer.

That being said, boo hoo! I don't really care. I'm sick of all these letters. I want to see real damage done to them. And that means all Patriots fans around the world unite and refuse to watch any game for a period of 2 seasons. Don't matter what the 32 offer, do not watch. Do not purchase any merchandise from them. Do not do anything that helps them get profits. Do not watch any games at a friends place or at a bar. Do not even watch any bootleg streams of the games. Then after 2 years offer terms that are favourable to the fans as well as an end to the corruption and immorality. No doubt the corrupt 32 will baulk at these terms. Then we refuse to negotiate for another 3 years. Then we offer even more favourable terms to the fans as a penalty and a message to them. If they don't accept, do not negotiate for another 5 years.

Yes, you would end up missing Brady/Belichick in their twilight years. But great sacrifice is necessary to create change.

That being said I know this will never happen, it must mean we're ok with corruption and immorality. We're ok with wife beaters, we're ok with people who sexually assault others, we're ok with irresponsible idiots endangering their children. Until we communicate with them in the only language(Money) they speak, they'll rightfully assume we're all ok with this. Because I'm ok with it, you're ok with it, we're all ok with it. Don't matter if I, you, or we all say otherwise, this situation has taught us that words mean nothing, action means everything. We're all apart of this corruption and immorality. The blood is on all our hands.

To attempt to put what's happened to the Pats - including specific losses, like draft picks including first-rounders - into some sort of historical perspective, I'm trying to think of something comparably corrupt...like, McCarthyism, whose victims included a wide range of scholars, intellectuals and public servants; or the Iran-Contra conspiracy, whose victims were, well, anyone who's interested in preserving the stability of the civilized modern world. Targeting of individuals, like Jim Thorpe or Joe Louis, don't seem analogous, unless you want to view this as an attack specifically against Kraft. I can say now with certainty that anyone of any credibility, values, objectivity or even moral compass is absent from the NFL and ESPN.

And since the rest of the country is swallowing whole the propaganda, does that in fact mean that it's up to us to expose the truth, and do something to remove the criminals from the NFL? If so, we can use some governmental and legal help. I think we can easily conclude, however, that justice will never be applied to the perpetrators of this farce.

Your initial suggestion about the boycott would be ineffective, insofar as it would simply be akin to adding a poor, nonprofitable franchise to the league. It would work if all 32 were together, but that appears impossible. We're looking at a mountain here, similar to people of color or women fighting for their basic rights, struggles that continue...and similarly, the corporate and special interests all appear to be on the NFL's side...it's really, really too bad that Bill Maher is a Giants fan...but, nobody's perfect, I guess...

the only thing to do is to assure to make zero dollars from your pocket make its way to the NFL......the NFL has not gotten a dime from me since 2005

you want to argue that somehow they are getting money from me because I watch the games on TV, knock yourself out.....if they're getting money because I am watching, they are getting it from someone else.....hell, if I am in a pissy enough mood this fall, I will make a point to boycott whoever advertises during the games.

But I am watching........I am going to use the product and they're not getting a dime from me ever again and there's nothing they can do about it

Unfortunately, the NFL would not miss you (or us) any more than David Stern missed my up-until-then annual viewing of the NBA Finals after he ruined it with the insanely unnecessary and unfair 2-3-2 format.
