NFL Rumors: Ryan Fitzpatrick To Sign With Patriots As Tom Brady Suspension Looms?

This is more of a speculation piece in my opinion. I think we are fine with the QBs we have.

My inlaws are Jets fans. Their heads would explode. I like them... but I gotta admit that would be friggin' hilarious to watch. Better get a slicker though. LOL

He won't sign with the jesters (well who would want to?) for over $12M and pats are going to pay him with exactly what cap space?

Exactly. Just messing with their heads. Love it.

I get the spite factor, but once Brady's back Fitz would be cut.

We've already got Garop and Brissett. No way Bill is keeping 4 QBs.

In fact, say he gets cut then signs with the Jets midseason. That only hurts us.

Doesn't seem worth it for a cheap headline.

No way, Belichick needs to know what he has in Jimmy G. It was a high investiment and the situation is kind of the best possible for a trial (apart from the injustice that lead to this).

Also, Fitzpatrick is a bum, the likelyhood of a 0-4 improves with him under Center imho.

I'm going to say this once and not again....the Patriots are NOT signing Ryan Fitzpatrick.

If this happens for real, it will be on par with the butt fumble in terms of hilarity to me. I f-ing hate the Jets so much. If I wasn't from the area and didn't still have family there, I'd say D the whole state of NJ (I can never say F NY though...love it too much).

So now I'm hearing that he's just been seen at the airport, exiting Kraft's jet.

why would the pats spend 8 million on a third string QB?

Brissett goes on IR ... bet on it ... he's too far away based on the system he played in college.
Also would I pay Fitz 6 or 8 million to trade and gain a #1 pick for Grop next year ... yes ... yes I would.

its a pretty smart move for both parties

fitz wants starter money, the patriots want to **** with the jets.

bring fitz in and offer him a prorated contract with huge bonuses if he starts weeks 5-16 but pretty friendly numbers the first four weeks.

he gets to be around the patriots, ride the bench, and make some money, and he gets to shove it in the jets face.

Fun thought to throw around, but I don't see it happening due to the salary cap and the fact that was previously mentioned that he'd be cut when TB returns.

The only thing that makes me think this could happen is that he went to Harvard, so he's intelligent. Since he's intelligent, he would do anything to stay away from the NJjets at any cost.

He's played with Buffalo and the jests. Poor bastard.
