Great article.

Unless he goes to prison for a long time, I'm really not sure he's ever going to get what's coming for him.

yeah...who would ever dream of harming Das Kommissoner..?

Is there a reverse bookmark?

I appreciate what this guy has written for sure, but now that it's over I don't really want to hear anything more about it. So done.

We're smarter. We realize the NFL is fixed. We'll still overcome it.

Spot the teams 25% of the season and still beat them by the end of the season. I'd call that salt in the wounds.

Add to that the upside of 4 games when Brady will not take damage as the offensive line finds itself, as it has for the last 3 seasons or so.

The comments on the story are now negative.

It just reminds me of the Duke Lacrosse Rape case. Even after it was proven that no players were involved, I still hear comments like "I believe something happened". Jason Cole uses that exact phrase on Deflategate. Never mind the facts. My mind is made up.

It goes to show what getting your negative story out first and how damaging those false leaks were. Many legal commentators say Brady's defamation case wouldn't get anywhere because he has to prove "false and malicious" statements were made. What other purpose for releasing false and prejudicial PSI numbers is there except to damage Brady's reputation?

Perhaps, but there is a very real sense in which Goodell harmed himself and the NFL in this fiasco (see article linked below). How it all plays out remains to be seen of course.
Roger Goodell still looks worse than Tom Brady

Nice article, but I question the players will to go on strike for an indefinite time. Unfortunately too many players want to get paid. The corrupt NYJFL* understands this. I'd love for the NFLPA to make their fair demands, settle for nothing less and go on strike for years. The players won't be ok with that but the only language the NYJFL* understands is money. That's why they need to go on strike for years. And the football fans need to support them and only condemn the corrupt league and their owners.

I sure as hell won't link to it, but Simmons pointed out that ESPN's deflategate timeline includes Mort's "11 out of 12 seriously deflated" as if it were true.

The bastards are jumping in to try and cement the conventional wisdom on the lies for their NFL partners. I swear to God, it's almost evil.

I'll forever appreciate Wetzel, Steph Stradley, Sally Jenkins, Bill Simmons, Ben Affleck and all of the others with media influence outside of NE for having the nuts to support the truth. I'll also never forgive local ***holes like Shank, Borges, Tomase, Felger, Mazzarotti, Bertrand and others who ignored logic and science and took the dumb route of, "I know he did something." I hope they all burn in hell.

The only people that can do anything about this are us fans.

I think we have to stop watching for the first four weeks.

I know some people will say that we have to support the team but this is about protecting the team and bringing back some respect after all that has happened.

The one way to stop Roger Goodell is for the NFL to lose money. If a large enough portion of Patriots fans were to stay away from football while Brady is suspended then sponsors will not be happy. The tv ratings will drop and it all comes back to Goodell.

The owners will not be happy with Roger Goodell. Bob Kraft will lose money too and I won't be too disappointed about that either.

If we go on as normal then Roger Goodell has gotten away with this. It means that he can do what he likes whenever he feels like it and not get punished. It means that if he fancies tarnishing the Patriots name again he can go and do it and nobody can stop him.

The comments provide pretty strong evidence Wetzel is right; hard to imagine so many people started out that dumb.

I think that people were that dumb and this story just gave them a chance to prove it. One of the commenters asked why the Colts footballs weren't affected by the IGL. 18 months later and still accepting one of the NFL's lies, despite there being nothing to substantiate that claim and evidence to the contrary. That's a "keep away from sharp objects" level of dumb.
