I think the availability of Edelman - Amendola - Lewis

will have more to say about that than Grop's play itself.
I agree and have tried making the same point. Some people are saying 2-2 and, while I respect everyone's opinion, I just can't get with that program...even without the GOAT. Our coach is better, or coordinators were guys enough to come up with the SB gamelan in 2004 and I have to believe they're even better now, the D should be even better than last year's version and there are just too many offensive weapons in this team. Even if JG's play is suspect, we should still win three of four at least.

And I tell you what, that Bills game scares me more than the Cardinals game. We'll see what happens, though. Games are not win or lost on Patsfans after all. Lol

The problem with trying to decide what Garoppolo "will do"? We've never really seen him running the full offense. Almost every time he's come in, the Patriots have held out at least some of the top players (or he's been used as a low-speed JUGS machine for the RBs). About the only exception to this was the KC game.

Think about this: after pre-season, JG will be more experienced with the offense than TB was at the point that Bledsoe went out. Hell, I remember, right here on this board in 2001, a lot of fans had no faith in Brady. It took a bunch of games before people believed in him and even then, there were knucklehead doubters. The reports from both reiss and curran, the only Pats reporters who matter, are that JG is far ahead of where he was last year, has command of the team on the field and in the locker room. yeah we havent seen him in real games, but if those 2 guys say the Pats'll be fine, then im on board. One thing i know about the nfl-how you practice has a direct bearing on how you play-i cant remember a Pats player, especially at qb, who practiced well and didnt play well. or vice versa. Pats will go at least 3-1. I beleive JG will perform better than all the other afc qbs(which isnt saying much), but the Pats overall talent is better than all those teams. Even in arizona, I believe it will be a very close game, Pats have a shot at winning that as well, tho im not counting on it. So 3-1, and then Tom comes out breathing fire in game 5. woe to the rest of the nfl.

Jimmy G goes 4-0 and goes on to become the 2nd greatest QB of all time winning 6 SBs (4 as a starter... gotta count 2014 and 2016 *this year). BB in a few years trades Brady to the Colts after Andrew Luck implodes for 3 first round draft picks. After the trade Brady promptly retires before ever having to touch a Colts Jersey and signs a one day contract with the Pats to retire a Patriot :)

We have a hardly laugh having gut Indy's future and enjoy another 15 years of top level QB play.

As a minor quibble, there are a fair number of good Pats reporters, but I won't argue that those two are far and away the best.

I agree. i like howe and a few others. but i said only those two matter because they both have stronger relationships with people who matter in the Patriots organization, and have the trust of BB, coaches and players-because of 15 years of solid reporting-and most importantly-never breaking a story unless theyve checked and rechecked with the right sources. Neither one of them cares about "scoops". If they wanted, they could break more stories about the pats than almost anyone, since they have the contacts .Theyre professionals. They care about getting it right.

So chuiba obele- what did you dislike about my post? You don't like JG going 3-1? You don't like TB breathing fire and tearing up the league? Are you actually a jets fan then? Kinda weak to "dislike" a post w/o posting why.

Oops, my bad. Meant to tap the like button

4-0, 3-1 at the worst. Book it.

This is a blessing in disguise. Brady gets to play 4 fewer games before hoisting Lombardi No. 5 in Jetdell's face. That means less of a chance of injury or fatigue later in the season. Plus, imagine playing against a pissed off and highly motivated Tom Brady? Oh what fun!

The Pats get to see what they have in JG. Their backup gets serious game experience. And when he performs well, his value goes up.

And the rest of the NFL gets to see how good he is. And just wait and see how the rest of the team steps up.

This is going to be so much fun!

I'd always rather have TB under center- but I agree, if JG is really sharp for 4 games- in a qb- starved NFL - we could be looking at getting a 1st rounder for him-ironically replacing the stolen pick. Regardless of whether Tom sits or not- I feel like I did before the 2014 season- this team is one of the best they've ever put on the field. Only major key injuries stop #5-and the gods owe us as far as injuries. We've been denied a few trophies due to them.

4-0 and somehow the NFL and all the haters alike will say we cheated... mark my words, they will try to make up another scandal, guarantee it!

It's a lose lose for the Patriots now if Brady misses those games

Scenario 1
Garropalo plays mediocre and the team goes 2-2 or worse.. the nfl media will have a field day crapping all over the team, just like the last year we won the SB after the KC game.. that will be all we hear, especially if Brady comes back and drops a game knocking rust off

Scenario 2
Garropalo plays really well... the media will love this even more, because then they'll use his success to create controversy just spewing out garbage about how they should move on from Brady, Garropalo is better at this point, etc etc

2-2

Don't see how we win IN AZ...then another close game that's a L

Me and a couple of my coworkers were back on this subject at work today. I don't watch AZ enough to know what they are really good at (It seems like they are good at pretty much every position) I just find it will be so hard to go in there..week 1...Jimmy Gs nerves going a bit and getting the W.

WOnder what the spread will look like
