Brady accepting suspension:(

I just feel so terrible for Brady. I've been so angry and frustrated throughout this fiasco because I (like the rest of you) have had to deal with all the ignorant and rabid haters but when you think of all that Brady has accomplished only to have his legacy completely trashed and tarnished, it really is upsetting. An upstanding citizen, player and ambassador of the league has been burned at the stake for absolutely nothing. It's ****ing disgusting. I honestly want the worst of the worst to happen to Goodell. Not sure there is a more dishonest and conniving POS that walks this Earth.

If there is a silver lining aside from seeing what Jimmy can do, watching that POS Goodell hand over Brady's 5th Lombardi will be sweet, sweet justice. Brady should drop the nice guy persona, rip it from his hands and whisper in Goodell's ear "try harder"

I tell ya, if CA8 rules in favor of Adrian Peterson (sometime within the next 87 days, hopefully - although right now I'd be happy hearing it by 2020), the NFLPA would have a good case to petition the USSC here.

**** this ****

**** the NFL

**** Goodell

**** everyone for all I care

18 months of a witch hunt and the NFL wins. Hope they understand the anger they have opened up in Brady and Belicheck for the remainder of this season.

19 - 0 baby....

Goodell is getting away with this? Terrific!

Maybe he should be Hillary's VP pick.

Seriously, f*ck this!

Too bad he gave in, but this must have been done in conjunction with all of his advisers and attorneys..

I hate to see his rep tarnished by such idiocy..
To be fair his reputation was already tarnished regardless of any outcome.

The haters and media already decided he was guilty 18 months ago. Since then some have seen the light of reason that the entire investigation was a sham, but the damage was done.

In seems that even if he would have won with the SC it wouldn't have made people that don't like Brady proclaim his innocence.

I would actually be happy with the NFL and RG if they released a statement saying that they only suspended TB12 bc they felt like it and have the authority to do so and he did not cheat in any way (which is what really happened).

It's for the good of the players. If the Supreme Court hears it and Brady ultimately wins, it means that Berman's interpretation of the CBA is correct, and future players can't get screwed the way Brady was. So it doesn't benefit us or Brady directly, but it will benefit us the next time Goodell has a bug up his ass over the Patriots.

It would also get Brady his $230K back.

Wouldn't actually be opposed to Jimmy tearing it up his first four games, Brady coming back and going on a tear where he doesn't lose another game this season, winning his 5th. Then proceeding to retire immediately after, giving an FU to the league, leaving the reigns to a young and promising Jimmy.
I agree with everything except the retire part. I would have liked that storyline a lot more if he were not serving the suspension because it would have meant he got out without having to serve that ********. But now that he will definitely serve it, why not continue to play and try to pile on more SB's, MVP's, post season wins if your body allows? The more he adds to his legacy, the quicker this story fades into what turned out to be a hiccup in an otherwise legendary career. It can only help him to keep paying if he can keep doing it at this level of greatness.

Again, I believe this was the right play, like it or not. I believe the team can still be 4-0 by the time Brady takes back the controls. I truly do. Oline is going to have to be huge for the team. And provided two things - health and an OLine (aforementioned) that looks more like an OLine and less like a turnstile or revolving door, I don't see any other reason besides maybe a freak play or bounce of the football that will stop this team from at least being in the SB. I can't wait for ****ing September!

Weak, hope he is sueing for defamation. Guess he wouldn't give up unless there was no chance...****ing sucks.
It was a selfless thing for him to do. It doesn't jeopardize his availability late in the season and it relieves the distraction that this would surely cause bringing into season.

I'm sure he, his legal team and the coaching staff weighed every option and dropping it was the most prudent decision. I wouldn't have wanted to be in the room with Tom when they made that decision. I'm sure he was livid.

now that he doesn't have to worry about the courts, hope tom gives an interview where he holds nothing back

Sounds like someone hasn't watched Brady over his career..... ;) I'd love that myself too, of course, but Brady is far more classy than I am. And I'm more classy than LaDainian Tomlinson! :p

He's ultimately doing what is best for the team. Ultimately, this has become and unneeded distraction. Of course the haters will think he's guilty, but that would not have changed regardless. I racked up the disagrees in another post for hoping that he'd just simply accept it from here and put it behind him, but I'm glad that he did it. The first four weeks of not seeing him will definitely be weird, but I look forward to see what (if anything) Garoppolo's got.

Forgive as I play devil's advocate, but....

They won. Roger is the infallible chancellor. Now that the NFL has won and Brady for all intents and purpose has given up, anyone think they'll drop the suspension to 2 games?
LOL, there's a greater chance it gets increased to 8...or 16...;)

Tom continued it this far, I believe, because "you never want to see someone else do your job."

Meh. I thought Tom continued his fight because he believed he was innocent not because someone else was going to play QB. Scatological.

just seen NFLPA said they won't seek a stay but could pursue supreme Court without him...what does that mean, or better yet what good is that if he's already served suspension?
It means the fight would go on but it would no longer be specifically about Brady anymore. It would be strictly about the law and not whether Brady should or shouldn't serve a suspension for the misinterpretation or disregard of the labor law. We all wanted that all along, but we also wanted the fight to include Brady's suspension being lifted. They were related without being absolutely related, if that makes sense. So those who are saying Brady's resignation is bad for everyone may end up being wrong if the NFLPA takes up the fight and, who knows, wins.

Sucks, but I expected this even before the decision came down, since I also expected it to be unfavorable. As many dislikes as I'll get, I feel it was the right thing to do for many reasons. I think Tom did it for his family and the team. This is also why he restructured. So be it. We're in to training camp.

Cue the sue birds. Lol. Ain't gonna gotten though. Honestly, I believe there are deals that have been made behind closed doors. I think the genera public only really knows about half of this saga in reality. Just think about how bizarre last season ended. Have we ever seen BB **** the bed that many times with his decision making, injuries notwithstanding? The series of events just seems off.
The hell you talking about?

I wonder what Kraft and Goodell are going to do to celebrate?
I posted earlier that I do believe there's some dealings between those two behind closed doors. This is more or less the show they want us to see. There's definitely more to the saga we may never know, unless someone decided to go full "Donaghy" at some point down the line.

It means the fight would go on but it would no longer be specifically admit Brady anymore.

Actually, it still would be specifically about Brady, in particular his lost game checks. The federal courts can only hear a live "case or controversy". You have to have an actual party asking for actual things. In this case, Brady would be asking for his $230K back.

The deal?
