Cards vs Pats is a preview of the next Superbowl, IMHO. Cards should be favored at home, but they don't know Polo and have no book on him to study, so who knows? Arians is a good coach and there is plenty of talent in AZ. I just have a feeling there will be a surprise coming... Good or Bad I don't know.

I'd bet this is the longest prep to start in NFL history. BB has planned for this possibility. TB probably has/will mentor until the sanction kicks in.

I say 3-1 but wouldn't be shocked at all if we ended up 2-2. The fins and bills are the only ones I think we "need" for obvs reason.

The Patriots, Bill in particular likes to use the first 4 as "extra" pre season/practice. I knew last year would be different and think the same this year. Full steam ahead with what we have and have Tom and possibly 11/33 out for the first few. Come back against Cleveland #5 and bye @9. With 3/4 at home against mediocre teams.

Miami does not scare me one bit. I'm sorry their entire defense is trash save 2-3 guys. Mario is bull rush just waiting to happen. Hes not nearly the same and neither is Wake. Their backers and cbs are trash. And their currently in year 5 of rebuilding that oline , which is still very bad.

Buffalo will play us tough because Rex is obsessed with us. But what exactly is scary about them? Their offense is literally the same and the entire team has suspect depth. Esp on oline, wr, TE and S. Also no 3rd cb.
Yes you can win with great a defense and running game. But ONLY an elite running game and defense and Buffalo has neither.

Houston is the best team out of the 3 and they have all their eggs in Brock Os. A guy who's original team wanted no part of him. Their a team that could make some noise in a few years but not now.

The Pats have been preparing for this for 2 years. This isnt breaking news. Jimmy might not be "the guy" but he doesn't have to be. Especially not with the team we have. We have a legit top 10 roster without Brady. Bill is the master motivator and will have these guys breathing fire. It's all big talk with other teams but the Patriots use this stuff to their advantage like no other team in sports. Deep down Bill loves this because it's all hes ever known. Hes comfortable and familiar where others panic and fail.

I think the availability of Edelman - Amendola - Lewis

will have more to say about that than Grop's play itself.

I think JG will do just fine if the skill guys are healthy and the OL gets SCARed. And Honey Badger has good chance to be out coming off late season ACL; his was close to 2 months after Lewis', I believe.

That's a mean pass rush right there^
the screen pass beats the rush every time

What if Jimmy G comes out and goes 4 and 0 and looks elite in the process?
Would BB decide to Keep Jimmy and trade the Goat earlier as opposed to later.

The one thing I would hate to see is New England losing to the Cards. It'd be week 1 and no Brady. The media fallout from such a loss would be frikkin' intolerable. The howler monkeys at ESPN would be running around like aroused apes with their hair on fire, flinging crap in every direction. Heck, it'd be DeflateGate of steroids.

So win at Arizona to start off the season and put a damper on all the haters.

While true, we've gotten off to bad starts before (1-2 etc fairly recently) and ended up just fine. We've also seen other good teams like the Seahawks and Packers start out rough, only to catch fire and iron out their weaknesses. The season is a long one. You can be 0-2 and suddenly win 4 or 5 in a row and really turn the tables. That said, it's impossible to disagree with the notion that losing the opener would suck in terms of dealing with the media, but that could be said for just about any game.

I'm hoping for 2-2, with anything more as an added bonus. It's hard for me to imagine another divisional foe doing better than 3-1 when Brady returns, so being one game out wouldn't be anything to worry about in my opinion.

Let me phrase this in the most neutral way possible: Despite giving Brady a two-year extension, the Patriots could trade Brady in 2018 or 2019 without taking a prohibitive cap hit.

I'm still saying he plays. Somehow, someway.

Jimmy's going to go 5-0 because if the suspension holds, Brady is not going to put his first foot on the field in Cleveland.......

it seems as though lots of people are saying that....the whole irreparable harm thing of not being to go back and play the games.......not about the money

Don't forget Bennet and Hogan. Not having Brady very would really suck but they still have more than enough for Belichick to work with. I also believe the team as a whole is going into camp motivated to be in top form from the opening whistle. They will be pissed at the haters and ready to show everyone just how good they really are. Belichick is going to have them frothing at the mouth.

There are very few things that could get me to stop supporting the Patriots, this is one. If they f.ck Brady after all he has done for them then I'm done with football.

I'm not saying the Patriots will, or even should, hand the reins to Garoppolo or Brissett. I'm merely pointing out that Brady and the Patriots agreed to an extension that gives the Pats an out in 2018, but not before.

I get that ct, and I shouldn't have given you the dislike I just hate that idea with a passion. After everything Brady has done for this franchise I would be furious at the team and would stop following football. I also need think it would be beyond stupid to trade Brady as he is still the best player in football. Age is not a factor, he's still playing at the highest level.

I'll go take the dislike down.

I believe the case for a hearing is compelling, the CAII decision truly destroys the arbitration system imo, and if Olson and Feinberg can make that case they could well hear it.

Sorry to disagree, but I don't see the Cardinals making the SB as long as Palmer is the QB. He's not a bad QB, but he's not a SB quarterback and their D, at least last season's version, is not good enough to carry them like the Ravens of yesteryear or the Broncos last season, IMO. They liked awful in the playoffs last season, mind you.

But of course this is all speculation obviously. But, and I mean no disrespect to you, but you seem to base a lot of opinions on what things look like in paper. And I guess there really isn't that much wrong with that, per se. And maybe you'll turn out to be right, and I'll be the first to congratulate you. But AZ really wasn't as good as their record last season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them slip a bit and maybe make it as a WC and not contending for home field like last season. I do like their roster and I really like Arians, but Palmer is the main cog and, whether health or poor play in big games, I wouldn't trust him if I were a fan of AZ. But that's why you play the game. Lol
