Calais Campbell says he's "licking his chops" at the prospect of facing Jimmy G

Yeah, well, you probably aren't going to see JG stuff it down an elite defenses throat in the first game of the regular season, first start of his career, ON THE ROAD

Honestly, it wasn't that much trash talk. While it's not the Patriot Way, it's also not hugely insulting or demeaning. He's just pointing out that it's a lot of pressure for a guy in his first start, and that the Cardinals want to take advantage of the jitteriness.

Calias is a guy that I'd love to have on our team. Reminds me of Seymour in many ways.

Hes had a solid career and has produced. I'd love him here.

Whatever with the trash talk. Just shows how much in people's heads the Patriots are the fear of god TB12 puts in defenses.

Hysterical.

I'm sure they'd prefer 12 was throwing balls their way, and not some unproven back up who's never played at a high level

I agree.

I think having Bennett and Gronk as bookends will help offset some of the defensive pressure Jimmy might see.

I think if Jimmy is at QB we are going to see a lot of delayed releases from both tight ends, hot screens, running plays and the occasional deep throw down the field.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to create a gameplan so take that with a grain of salt.

There's always that one player. No matter the team, no matter the game, the Patriots opponents all seem to have that one guy who can't lock his lips. He steps up and says something that, no matter how innocuous or rah-rah it might seem, invariably gets blown out of proportion by the Pat's locker room and becomes that single piece of bulletin board material with which to rally around.

You gotta know his head coach and, probably his position coach as well, are banging their heads on their desk top, wondering why. Why now. It's not even training camp, and the Patriots are gonna have 2 months, pretty much, to digest and remember these lines. 2 months of being reminded that some opponent's player, that one guy, dissed their team. because, no matter who is under center, it's THEIR QB who's being dissed, which means the whole team is being dissed.

I love it. I can't wait for the season to start now. :)

He just said what everyone on that defense was probably thinking knowing they wouldn't have to face the greatest QB of all time while he was pissed off. In fact, now they won't have to pack an extra pair of underwear for gameday.

Quotes like this honestly make me wonder if teams will not give their best efforts just because Brady's not there. Yeah, Brady is the GOAT, but I don't think Garoppolo is some slouch, and the team still has Gronk, Bennett, Edelman, Lewis, Amendola.... Plus new additions like Hogan etc. And Brady missing isn't going to weaken the defense...

Yeah, I'm going to talk sh*t because I think I can beat you and deep down inside know I can't beat big "brother." Classic bully syndrome. How is everyone overlooking the weapons around Jimmy G.? Lol

Right. Instead they've got to face 45 guys (all of the game day roster except Jimmy G) lining up against them who are both pissed off and likely as good or better than they are to start.

I hear Jimmy G is licking his chops knowing he has a great offense to play in against Arizona.

Given the size of Calais I'd say he's doing more than just licking those chops.

I'm thinking that all the hogs for miles around are nervous whenever he's in the area.......
