Court denies Brady a re-hearing!!!

I know what I will say will be perceived as blashphemous by some (and I have feel dirty for mentionning it), but what if Jimmy runs the table while looking GREAT doing it? Do we go back to Tom or turn the team over to him full time?

I probably would go back to Tom, but would BB? I mean, BB knows when to move on. Brady is the GOAT and he will always be my biggest hero, b ut still

There is zero chance Brady loses his job as starter over this.

This is not even remotely the same situation that played out in 2001. In any way.

This is what we all expected from the outset, but seeing it in print really hurt. This MAY be a correct decision according the "law" or precedent, but as we know the "law" is not always just.

As far as Brady goes: I hope he takes it to the SCOTUS - remember he doesn't need the court to take the case or even win 5-3. ALL he needs is to convince Judge Ginsburg to give him a stay. That act alone would likely cover him for the entire 2016 season.

But now I think what would be best for Brady would be to take the first 4 weeks of the season, and sit down with is lawyers and start to prepare for the defamation suit that would ultimately blow the lid off that corrupt and toxic cabal at 354 Park Ave. The only reason for Tom NOT to do that is the invasion of his privacy that would come along with such a suit. It isn't about the money. He could fund Best Buddies for a few centuries with the money he'd win on this case. As many have said, this is a good man and a great player who has been badly used by a group of very BAD people.

As far as the Patriots go: This is a very good football team even without Tom Brady. Lets not forget that the Broncos won a superbowl with a horrible QB last season. There is no reason they can't win at least 2 games during that suspension, and IF they do, they can create a scenario that will make this entire affair blow up in the faces of Goodell and his cabal.

With just a decent showing in the first 4 games, Garrapalo becomes a valued asset for the Pats to deal away to a QB hungry league and get back that first round pick and perhaps more. That is not counting the Pats will get back a VERY hungry Tom Brady WITHOUT the wear and tear of the first 4 games. By then the OL will have solidified, the receivers will have settled in, and Bennett will have become familiar with the offense.

This is going to be a good offense regardless of the QB, and the defense is potentially good enough to carry the team for a few games or at least be good enough to make sure the Pats are "in" every game they play in the first quarter of the season . When he DOES come back it will be a GREAT offense.

What are the chances this goes to the Supreme Court.

A lot higher if a decision on the Peterson case (upholding the district court, of course), comes out in the next few weeks.

I think it's a long shot at best. Frankly, it would be an embarrassment if the Supreme Court takes this case - I'd be happy of course from a Patriots' fan level, and as a non-union worker with an arbitration clause in his contract, I would also be very happy as I think the current ruling is really crappy from an overall arbitration perspective. But it's an embarrassment to the NFL that they would do something like this, and an embarrassment to our justice system that the lower level courts couldn't get something like this right and that the top level court needs to waste its precious time over something so trivial.

if you sign a contract that allows you to get f*cked in the ass, and then you get f*cked in the ass, don't be surprised
Wait, are we in the porn message board ?

No question. Even if Jimmy goes 4-0 and is the second coming of Kurt Warner, TB12 is back under center Week 5.

very low...

brady's reputation/legacy are now forever tainted. so sad

What???? History will be very very kind to his legacy. With time, when he's long gone from the league this will be looked at very differently. Most of the greats are hated by most when they play and then lionized in retirement.

According to @IanPGunn there were no dissents from the denial of rehearing. Doesn't mean that everyone voted in favor of denial, only that no one was worked up enough to publish a dissenting opinion.

I'd be happy with 2-2. Both Bills games were 1 score games last year with Brady and the Pats have lost 1 game vs Miami the last two years. Both losses were in Mia though. I do think this roster is stronger though. I hate that this suspension could really screw us over for home field advantage.

That's all they have to do to keep the Pats out of the Super Bowl. 1-game was the whole difference last season with HFA. I'm upset but not surprised.

JG will be ready. They have the entire pre-season to get him ready and figure out what he can and cannot do.

Also I don't think the high powered legal team that was hired will give up. The appeal to the SC may very well be denied but I'm sure they will follow thru with the request.

Agreed. But the fundamental fairness of the agreed upon process was flawed, just as stated in the original Berman ruling.

sure......it is flawed, but it's not the job of the court to necessarily tear up an agreed to contract because one side decides it's not fair

listen, I don't like it, and we are getting screwed.....but it is obvious that Goodell and his minions have improved at their ******** since the Saints, Ray Rice, and Adrian Peterson....and Brady and Kraft were asleep at the wheel at the outset of this whole thing......

ok.....you win.....you know more than all these judges

based on the argument the judges made during the hearing, It actually wouldn't surprise me if he did.

Give me a break with that righteous crap.

Did you watch the games in 2014? 2015? Nothing has changed over the last two years.

I'm still going to watch the games because I want to be entertained and I love the team. Brady or no Brady.
2014? So, I was supposed to know they were going to do this before it even happened?

2015, I watched occasionally, but only in situations where that tv was going to be tuned in to the game whether I watched it or not.

Have fun. Just remember that you are doing exactly what Goodell and Kraft knew you would do, which is why they did this in the first place and why they are fully incentivized to do it again, and again, and again...

I just hope Brady finally tells his side.

The closed lips approach has gone on far to long.

Please Tom, go sit down with Jim Gray and let loose...

See Dreyfus affair - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for a similar example where the implications were real, not "football real can't-play-four-games" as in this case.

Shoot, you've got people defending Shoeless Joe Jackson nowadays. If football is still a thing 50 years from now, the next generation and the generation after that will look at Brady in a similar manner and will look at Goodell as a stooge.

but it's a process that was agreed to......

No, the PERSON who was responsible for arbitrating was agreed to.

That that arbitrator would abdicate his duties under arbitration law was definitely NOT agreed to.
