Alan Millstein: Brady's chances of en banc hearing dramatically improved with latest amicus filings

Good call. That is a favorite of mine as well. But there are endless subtopics for that one. The Jets seem happy to supply plenty of talking points.

Geno vs Fitz is just that. Can only be taken so far.

Endless subtopics, but only ONE RECURRING NEVER-FAIL to bring laugh-tears to your eyes subtopic that TRULY EPITOMIZES jest-fandom.

Can only discuss a topic so much. This Brady-Court BS here, and the Fitz-vs-Geno joke on Jet boards... $hitty offseason.

Both situations need to end already. It's time for closure.
I like this conversation just fine. :)
I said both the Brady/court and Geno/Fitz situations need to end. And they really do. Been drawn out way too long.

This conversation has been cool. Especially learning that you guys sit in traffic for hours leaving Gillette. :D Actually it taught me to plan on having an after-game tailgate if I ever get to see a game there. May as well let the traffic die down before leaving.

Lol, c'mon man. Doesn't it get tiring being a douche? I never said to stop talking about it. I said the situations need to end. Give it a rest.

Seems like ya just want to argue. If so, that's cool. But not in the mood for it today. Maybe tomorrow or later in the week.

Well that is the popular opinion in Jet land and in the media. Though myself and actually a decent portion of other fans think the current offer out to Fitz is too much already (3 years 24mil with potential to jump to 36mil w/performance bonuses).

I don't see Maccagnan raising the offer at all. Fitz has no other offers. I mean it's July. Camp starts in a couple weeks and no team wants him.

So it's wait for a potential injury to another starting QB and hope that team feels he's worth a decent deal, sign the current offer within the next month, or retire.

I'd rather roll w/Geno. Either way though, should be an improved team. Whether or not it's improved enough to compete vs a brutal schedule is another story. Especially our first 7 games... smh.

No rush. I'm tired of the debate with Jet fans. Been going for six months now. Wouldn't mind your guys' perspectives, but no need for it right away.

Just didn't wanna cut off the discussion here w/o explaining why. (Guys gettin' pissy because of off topic discussions.)
6-10? Yet Geno's rookie year we went 8-8 with a team not nearly as good. Makes sense.

Lol, any topic discussed ad nauseam with the same group of people for 6 months and counting gets tiring.

Luckily it doesn't happen often.

For someone who keeps saying that the subjects are boring and need to end, you sure as hell seem to want to keep them rolling along.

Let me add my two $.02.

The Jets, and especially Gee-No, suck.

The Pats are great and Brady is the GOAT.

Maybe try a different topic such as comparing the tampering penalties of the Rats vs the Chiefs.

Have you discussed that one?

No need. All in the past and were handled appropriately by the league offices.

I choose to read this latest Walllach item as being positive. I think it shows they are giving Brady's appeal a serious look. Still the odds are against them reviewing it en banc, but where there is hope.....there is hope. ;)

As to our local Jet fan, I can't believe so many of you are pissed at him. Have a little empathy, remember after he leaves our site, he STILL has to follow the Jets. So it he feels the necessity to associate with us to make his life more bearable, why shouldn't WE grant him the chance to, at least, it gives him the opportunity to see what it feels like to follow a team than hasn't been the joke of the league for most of the last 40 years.

Besides we shouldn't forget that for the first 20 of those years, WE were in competition with them for who was the joke of the league. As late at the spring of 2001 the well respected Pro Football Weekly published an article that listed the top 5 teams LEAST likely to be in the superbowl over the next 5 years, and the #1 team on that list was our very own NE Patriots.

Now history has obvious proved that article DEAD WRONG, but think about it. Back in the spring of 2001, if we are being honest, most Pats fans would have had little to disagree with that prediction. But even after 16 straight winning seasons, 9 AFCCG appearances and 6 Superbowl appearances and 4 titles, we would all do well to remember our rather humble beginnings every now and again, and perhaps be more forgiving our less lucky fellow fans.

Hear hear. Similarly, I remember Dr. Z doing his rankings that Super Bowl year and after Bledsoe got hurt he had the Pats dead last. It was hard to argue with him at the time too.

There was a great post in another thread a few (maybe more than a few) months back, where a poster tracked Dr. Z's evolving comments on Brady during the 2001 Season from highly skeptical to "wow this guy might just be the real thing" (or words to that effect). It made for a great read...if that poster reads this, I think we'd all enjoy seeing it again...let's face it, we're running out of things to talk about while waiting for the great Katzmann Revelation.

It's rare to encounter a Jets fan with (possibly) a near-normal complement of chromosomes, so I'm against the ban. Who knew?
While I don't endorse your reference to folks with Down Syndrome, I do, nonetheless, give you credit for using the right spelling of complement in this context...a distinction that would indeed be lost on the average Jets Fan.

LaConfara and Shefter are now reporting that the ruling will come from Mount Washington in the coming days
I guess, in this context, that that would make them Prophets, getting the word straight from the Almighty...:D

Based on my extensive knowledge and given the importance that many of us ascribe to this matter, I think it's most likely and, indeed, appropriate that Katzmann will don flowing robes and descend from the top of Mount Washington with the ruling engraved on two stone tablets.

One of my favorite scenes ever. :)

Did you purposely choose to omit the word integrity, because that's all this is about... integrity. :p
Unfortunately, the law is not always about justice.

That was the best post Thanksgiving drive on the Jersey Turnpike ever!

Actually most people in here agree that he is a piece of **** troll

I understand what you're saying, but in my opinion, he's participated just fine with many posters in many different threads. That was my only point.

That said, I'm also not meaning to downplay any issues that you may have had with him. I just think that he's shown a tendency to get along fine with most of us and seems to have a good sense of humor in terms of keeping things light.

Ultimately, you may be proven correct in your hunch. Only time will tell.

Yeah, I've had some moments with him and he clearly attempts to get under one's skin, but he does have a decent sense of humor, some of it self-deprecating. We've certainly had worse around here. Just my take.

I wonder if Ted Wells will be handling this one.....Fox retained him so I can tell you the results right now, there was no harassment. Sorry Gretchen......

'Deflategate' team to probe harassment claims against Roger Ailes

>>>>The law firm that handled the Patriots’ “Deflategate” scandal is now tackling 21st Century Fox’s internal probe of Roger Ailes and sexual harassment complaints against him. Ailes, CEO of Fox News, will face scrutiny from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, New York Magazine reported Monday.

TV personality Gretchen Carlson is suing network chief executive Roger Ailes, claiming she was fired after refusing his sexual advances.

Former anchor Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment suit against Ailes, 76, last week. 21st Century Fox said it has “full confidence” in Ailes.<<<<<<
