Say if Argentina would've won in PK against Chile , but Messi still missed his people would be showering him with glory because he's the leader of the team. Even if CR7 didn't play after the injury, he was still there with his teammates motivating them and leading them from the bench. He deserves the glory he is receiving not hate.

Ronaldo not a MF the same way Messi not a #9. They both are different players.

Ronaldo just won at every level in his career. And he topped it off with Portugal, a country thats never won a major tournament until today.

Messi has not.

I would also add player for player when you compare both Portugal and Argentina, Argentina is the more talented team only the Germans and possibly Spain compare.

I can't considered messi the best of all time. Has to win something outside of barcelona. Not hard to grasp.

He's been the star player in several European cup nights with Barcelona. Won MOTM in 2 of his ECL finals.
Ronaldo has been a passenger in madrids 2 finals. scored in 08 final for united. did nothing for the rest of the game and missed his penalty.

Messi will be in the 2018 world cup. I have no doubts about that.
