OT: Remember Ricardo Lockette?

This was an amazing read. Thanks, OP. As much as we hate some teams and players, and as much as we want our team(s) to win, we forget sometimes that these are real men and women sacrificing their bodies and, in some cases, their well being to play the game they love. Yes, I know they get paid a lot, but it's still an incredible sacrifice and some of them have no skills other than that sport. Thanks for posting this and I hope everyone on the board reads it at some point.

With all that said, Lockette really did not attack the ball in the SB (thankfully). If he did, I think there would have been a collision and would have likely been a pass break up and not an interception. But I'm glad things worked out the way that they did.

Browner's aggressiveness and Lockettes lack of same made that play happen. As I've said, it's really not a risky play if the receivers is totally aggressive. worst scenario would be a breakup.

Glad Browners forced the action, though.

He collided with Butler and the players and their careers went in opposite directions. Not Pats content but good read.

On a related note, Calvin Johnson is not making the suits at 345 Park Ave happy with his recollections of playing in the NFL.

Unfiltered Calvin Johnson On Concussions, Painkillers Is Sure To Be Thorn In Roger Goodell's Side

But if a 30-year-old man is keeping it entirely real while discussing intentionally overlooked concussions as well as overprescribed painkiller medication, the league may have but very few options to try to muzzle the retired player.

If the NFL, its commissioner, and its corporate headquarters value anything, it’s control. With Calvin Johnson, they have none. You can bet there’s a huddle taking place in Manhattan right now full of folks hoping that Johnson won’t be talking so freely beyond the interview that’s already been recorded.
