Evan Turner got 4 years ... $70 million from Portland ...
Good luck to Evan ... good player for us and no way he was getting that here as the Celtics are expected to offet $113 Million to Horford.

Celtics have a real decent summer league team this year ... only problem is who will play center ... Mickey/Bentil?
Celtics announce summer league roster
Celtics 2016 draft picks Jaylen Brown, Guerschon Yabusele, Ben Bentil, Demetrius Jackson, and Abdel Nader will all play for the Cs this summer. Last year's rookies R.J. Hunter, Terry Rozier, and Jordan Mickey will also be on the squad, as well as second-year player James Young.

Utah Summer League begins on Monday, July 4, while Vegas Summer League will take place July 9 through the league's championship game on July 18.

Well the Horford meeting supposedlay went well, Durant today. A friend of Horford would love a package deal.

Hopefully this hastens the exit of Sullinger and Zeller ... 2 stiffs.

Now we hope lightning strikes and we get Durant. If so a phenomenal offseason.

I didn't think they would get either player. I'm very happy i was wrong. if they sign durant my head will explode. how great is tom brady. words don't do him justice.

Stay tuned folks, do not see why Durant would want to come here.. as much as talk radio has been yakking about it this week.

If he chooses not to, what is plan B????

Before the Horford signing you'd be correct - but now it's a very different story

But aside from Durant, Horford was probably the next most coveted Free Agent - in fact OKC wanted Horford to take less than the Max to pair him with Durant and contend for the title

Now the Celts have Horford at a Max, room for Durant at the max, and who knows who else they can add next year with the Cap going up - plus an All-Star in Isiah, plus a lot of very good role players who just got better with a real Center on the team (decent points and rebounds) - a guy who would also draw defenders just enough away from Durant to make him that much more effective

Add to that an exciting player friendly coach like Stevens, who seems to get the most out of this players - and all of that happening in the Eastern Conference where JUST with Horford the Celts are now on par with Toronto in being just a step behind Cleveland ...

Well, if Durant wants a young up and coming team where HE gets credit (unlike say, Golden State) for being the unquestioned Biggest of the New Big Three (and Ainge now has two!) - well, don't look now but the Celts just may have moved AHEAD of OKC in the odds on favoritate to sign Durant

This is basically Ray Allen signing here joining Paul Pierce - that alone makes for a much better team next year.

Add Durant - and Durant knows this - the Celts, who already seem to have close games against the Cavs - now have a MUCH easier path to the finals than any other team in the West does

Yesterday I would have said I would be surprised if Durant signed

As of now I'll just say I WON'T be surprised if he does.

Gotta love what the Celtics are doing. Some very impressive athletes on the Summer squad. Potential is written large. I think there is a floor of 2 rotation players now and a future ceiling of 2 stars and 2 role players among Brown, Mickey, Rozier, Yabousele, Huter, Jackson, Bentil, Young. Hard to see more than 5 of those 8 on our 15. Competition will be great. My 5 are Brown, Mickey, Rozier, Hunter and Benil. Could see Jackson fighting his way onto the roster. Yabousele is my third candidate behind Brown and Mickey to be a star, but the stash is a nice option on such a full team. I think both Brown and Mickey have very good chances to help this years team.

What these guys need to be great is a feel for the game and there is no better coach to teach them that than Stevens.

Even if we don't land Durant which is highly unlikely we have a great squad bringing Amir and JJ back on very good contracts. Sully will walk because Jeff Green was just given 15 million and someone will give him 2 years at 24 million and I don't see us matching.

Future first round picks look good. Top 10 for the next 2 years while we get better looks likely.

What the Knicks have done is interesting and has the potential to leap frog us. But it also has high breakdown potential.

Going to try and watch some summer games.

Well, that was LBJ squared. Kind of a cowardly move. More respect if he'd stayed with OKC or even chosen Washington. This? Pffft.

1st summer league game ...
Brown looks like **** ... Rozier looks real good ... Jackson and Bentil look very good also.

Ben Simmons is as advertised ... like a man playing against boys.

Eh? Simmons was 2-9. Meanwhile, brown got to the line 17 times, and swatted one of Simmons shots into the upper deck.

That was posted in the 1st half ...

Anyways ... Rozier - Brown - Bentil - Jackson - Yabusele ... IMO in order of who played well.
I really liked what little I saw of Jackson ... not sure how Ainge can fit him in though but he is smart and quick.

If I had to go by last night I also could more see Bentil making the roster than Yabusele.
It's going to be hard to rank Yabusele because he is playing out of position.
I really like Bentil ... this kid will be a very good role player / starter on a weak team in the NBA.
76'ers had a clear size advantage ... the Celtics players did well.
