Brady Helping Celtics Recruit Kevin Durant

Thanks for the correction. You'd never know that math used to be one of my strengths.

It's too bad that the Bruins didn't win a few more during the Orr era. They could have.

Damned Canadians.

Just throwing it out there in the universe, but Horford just started following Durant only an hour plus after committing to join the Celtics...he must have gotten the memo to start the KD push quick.

Haven't read this whole thread, so don't know if it was already mentioned, but wouldn't it be awesome if Brady is instrumental in getting KD to come to the Celtics?

That would be a well-deserved dagger to the Brady haters who also happen to be NBA fans.

Hopefully Goodell is a big fan of a non-Celtics NBA team.

Ha and hopefully the judges aren't OKC fans.

San Antonio's offense totally **** the bed in the playoffs because nobody could shoot. They got beat even with Aldridge feasting. When they beat Miami they were hitting tons of 3's. An offense centered around big Al isn't a recipe for success, especially because he's a poor passer. Duncan at least will pass.

San Antonio won the title just 3 years ago. Not long before that, the Lakers won a pair of titles. Just before that, the Celtics won the title. The idea that such basketball doesn't win titles anymore is nonsense. At least 12 of the last 17 titles have been won by teams that had a legit presence in either the low or high post.

Lakers - Shaq
Heat - Shaq
Spurs - Duncan
Celtics - Garnett
Lakers - Gasol/Bynum

Between Brady and the Horford signing, the Celtics have a real shot.

Wow! What a place for a sports fan to call home. Too bad the taxes are so damn high. :(

After viewing the City of Champions banner that @IcyPatriot posted here on page 1, I couldn't help but notice a few things.

If the Celts are the next team to win a championship then they'll have as many titles (18) as the other three teams combined.

Going back to the start of the last century, the longest Boston went without a championship from one of the major sports teams was 15 years, from 1942-1956 until the C's won in 57.

The next longest was 14 years. From 1987-2000, the Pats ended that in 2001.

Since 2000 the longest we've gone without a title has been 2 years and it only happened twice.

City of champions indeed.

Too bad the Celtics have to compete with Golden State's and Oklahoma City's championship city legacies to woo Durant.

I'll take a $1000.00 action reverse on Brady not missing a day and Durant going to the Celtics please.

Damned Canadians.

Canadiens took one away obviously in 71 (and later in the post-Orr late 70's) , and the Flyers in 74. WHA also took talent away from the Bruins, and the Bruins were never the same dominant team when they were on the road away from the smaller Garden ice surface.

We need the B's to take down those lame ass division banners in the Garden. Hurting the vibe.

That's what I love about seeing Celtics games, nothing but championship banners and retired numbers. Championship or bust.

To be fair, the Celtics never had the Lakers in the same division.

I'm for the Horford signing, but nobody in their right mind thinks this move makes the Celtics a title contender. Not even close

What it does do, is opens the door for another big FA or two whether it be KD this year or next year, or someone else.

It's a step in the right direction. Obviously they won't be able to touch Cleveland next year unless they manage to pull off KD, which would be the FA Shocker of the century

First step for sure. With the chips they have no reason to think some other steps won't occur.

Would love to see Durant in Boston! You need a big 3 to win it in sports.
Durant+Horford+Thomas going up against Lebron+Love+Irving. Let's go!!!

Those banners are long gone.

There's an echo in here ...

People are ruthless giving him crap because it's Reggie Lewis number. But I would say they are the dumb ones as I'm sure he knows that because it probably says Lewis on the back as I doubt he ran out and had a 35 KD Jersey custom made. The internet mobs are almost always rejects.
