Boatang saved at least three goals (or scoring opportunities) by Italy with his defensive prowess.

And he played perfect technique to have his arms so high during the play that caused the 11m to keep his arms out of the normal space the ball would travel, but unfortunately that was an odd angle (note he did not get a yellow).

And he hammered home his 11m unlike schweinie, ozil, and muller who are normally reliable. Dont aay **** about boatang, he is 2d mvp behind Neuer.

What a victory by Germany. Its like the new york jets beating the patriots in an afcc game. They have been waiting for 20-30 years for this moment. And in the 8th round of penalties, man oh man the only thing better would have been if Neuer shot the game winner!!!!

So guys, I haven't been paying too much attention to all of it. But how many shots of the German manager picking his nose and eating his snot did they get in this cup so far? And how many more shots of him doing that do you reckon they'll get?

Yeah and the striker /11m expert (Zaza) they changed in with 30sec left in OT did them a lot of good, he shanked it high. So don't know if the other three would have helped them either.

But anyway justice served: If part of your defensive style is to blatantly foul and hurt guys rather than have to defend close in to your own goal, well then you have to expect the yellow cards will follow and some guys will sit. If they had won they would have had another two would have had to sit.. Possibly a record there that could have been.

Germans are just all happy to have the monkey off their backs. The last time Italy beat them, Germans had the clearly better team, but walked out onto the field scared and played the whole 120 that way. This time germans didnt play scared, but italians I think played better than they actually are talent wise, tactically super smart for skills that they do have, (and got one outrageously lucky break for the tie) to make it a real seesaw, close battle ..

On to Iceland (rooting for the underdog vs France)!

NM. I just saw. They where eliminated by the germans in the 2014 world cup 1-0. I notice the french have won alot of friendly matchups but haven't beaten the germans in
the big spot.
