i don't know why this is such a shocking upset. iceland is ranked 34th and england is not that good. in a neutral field anything can happen.

I wasn't going to watch England-Iceland, but the friends I was with insisted. Something to do with them being Germans?

Actually, England -- two bad bits of non-defending apart -- weren't that bad, and Iceland are really surprisingly good for such a tiny nation (not just in this match). Anyway, they were plenty good enough to park the bus once they had the lead. Congratulations to them and I wish them well.

Even the german team's nickname "die manschafft" sounds intimidating.

Glad to see the passion about Soccer, but as hard as I try just cannot get into it..

Iceland has 100 professional soccer players, any good bar in London has more than that any night of the week.

In the US I think that you have to have played it or supported those who did. My HS was to small for football but became a state soccer power so that hockey, and lacrosse ruled over football, basketball, and baseball.

That said I have loved the soccer this summer, it filled the gap.

I have a question do you guys understand all what english ( accent) and Australian players say? I am asking this because Portuguese from Portugal is like 90% similar the rest i just guess what they talking about, the accent is pretty strong and they have a lot of different words

It was a good game glad Portugal advanced they're my dark horse.
