I have no illusions of Butler being great. Hes a 20/5/5/2 guy and that is ok with me.

My issue is that I have zero faith in Thomas being the go to guy. Butler is a fine 2nd option and a pretty decent defender.

They still need a rim protector and two more decent rebounders.

They still need THE guy but at least they have enough to win 50+ games.

They need scorers . This team has some crappy players and that includes sullinger. Wish he was off this team.

If they can get Butler AND Durant, they will automatically be contenders in the East.

It seems like the bulls don't wanna part with Butler. I don't know what the bulls are thinking. They might shop rose. That team's a mess. They might have to rebuilt again.

How they won as many games as they did is a miracle. Talk about squeezing blood from a stone.

Yep and sign a big that can give them 10/12 and a couple of blocks a game...

If we need Butler to get Durant, then sure. Otherwise, we may as well be patient. If we can't get Durant, we won't be serious contenders for at least 3 more years. Better to develop through the draft than trading away our picks for a bunch of mediocrities.

anyway i was watching len bias 30/30. man just hurts me everytime i hear that name.

still a great read by simmons
Still Haunted by Len Bias

for me it doesn't matter if he is all star or superstar level. he would've extended both bird and mchale's career simply by playing for us. sad as hell

i know kevin had ape like long arm, but it must be a misprint. rudy gobert's wingspan is 7ft 8 1/2 inch. i would say kevin's wingspan is KD range - 7ft 5 ish would be my guess still very very impressive. kevin's arm might not be longer than KD, but kevin had broader shoulder
Speaking of long wingspans, they had the Reggie Lewis special on CCSN last night again. I had forgotten but in a game vs the Bulls, he blocked MJ not once, not twice, not three times but FOUR times with those long ass arms. He was only 6-7 but he got such elevation and arm stretch on his shot he was tough to block as well.

RIP Reggie.

I dunna know.... I think their careers would have ran their same course with or without Lenny in the lineup. Kevin was still outstanding till the early 90s even though the foot was throbbing every night.

Larry's bone spurs and back issues were already an issue in the latter part of the 80s. His minutes going from 40 a night to 34 would not have made a difference. He is on record as saying if they had drafted Bias and he was doing well he would have retired after the 88 season.

In 87 Bias would have given them 20-25 quality minutes a night. That might have put them over the top vs LA. Some nights he would have been invisible. Others I bet he would have raised the building.

I think they beat DET in 88 as well. Celts just ran out of gas.

Hypothetically, in 88-95 he would have been a 22+/9 guy every night. Along with Reggie they would have been incredible....

What could have been that never was....

My final prediction will be that the celtics
will select Kris dunn or bender. Likely Dunn. I don't like it. They have like 50 point guards already. Dunn has said he wants to play for the sixers. The sixers are in a tough spot. If they select Simmons then they have to trade either noel or okafor. I still feel like buddy hield will be the best player in this draft. We will see.

If the Celtics pass on both frontcourt athleticism (Noel (if he can be had), Bender, Brown, Chriss) and shooting (Hield, Murray), I will be disappointed. I think Dunn for Noel makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Dunn will be the pick tonight, bank on it.

The reason i don't want noel's cause he sucks at scoring. I think Dunn will be the pick and i don't like it at all. Will they move someone if they do that? They can't have all these point guards.

Noel is already an elite rim protector. His offensive game is improving (11.1 ppg, 52% FG in 2016). I think the Celtics would make the trade if the 76ers would give up. As of now the Sixers are insisting on Okafor, who is yet another unathletic front court player that the Celtics already have in spades.

Ben Simmons taken number 1. No surprise. The hype on this kid's ridiculous. Idk why but i think he will be a bust. Idk

Celtics took Jaylen Brown. Somebody explain that to me lol.

fits right in since he can't shoot. maybe they can package him for Butler

Thomas /did/ average 24.2 points a game in the playoffs.
