Warriors fans ask Patriots fans on how to cope with loss

What a terrible post. Brought back all my living nightmares. Eli freaking Manning...

Took me awhile to get there but to accept 2007... Yeah the pats SHOULD have won if the game had been called right and the gmen did not have a golden diamond studded horseshoe up their ass, but the giants played harder, wanted it more, and DESERVED to win. It hurts cuz I never thought anyone could outwant Brady and Bill but IMO that season took years off their life and they were just tired of all the pressure. It was a weird patriot team in that instead of getting stronger thanksgiving on they were just holding on for dear life and playing worse. So while it still hurts and I suspect, from my reaction every freakin time that "catch" gets replayed, that it always will I have moved on by being able to admit the deserving team that day won. Did not watch the finals as I could give a crap about the NBA but from what I have heard GSW should be looking in the mirror going why did we brick so many 3's. We did not deserve to win. Doesn't make the gmen/lebron's the better team, just the more deserving one.

Are we sure these guys aren't just trolling us...to make themselves feel better?

Here was my coping mechanism:
Step 1:

Step 2:
19252_0_9999_med_v1_m56577569854560572.png

Step 3:
Painfully relive the last minute bomb to Randy Moss that he almost caught had it not been for that Giants cornerbacks fingertips deflecting it just enough. Keep thinking how ballsy it would have been if he had caught it, torched everybody and ran it in for a touchdown to seal the game.

Step 4:
Curse Eli Manning's ****** luck.

Warriors fans (minus the bandwagoners) get to absorb that loss in the beautiful California summer while us Pats fans had to absorb that loss at the beginning of February in the bitter Northeast winter...I'm sure it will be easier for them to get over.

I will never get over that game
Ah, 2008. Tomase printing the single most preposterous story I've ever seen as fact. Those classy Giants. Know why Lombardi was NEVER going to be their head coach? Because of his Italian extraction. And, why Belichick likewise was NEVER going to be their head coach? Because they did not like him. So, why did Marquise Hill rescue that young woman before he lost his own life? So that, before the last game of the season dedicated to him, the G-Men could step off the plane in Arizona dressed in black, for the Patriots' "funeral." Can't imagine them doing that, say, against the Redskins earlier that same season (for nationally mourned model citizen Sean Taylor). BECAUSE IT'S THE PATRIOTS. Anyway, BB broke the cardinal rule of football: Never take points off the scoreboard (eschewing an almost automatic Gostkowski FG to try and fail on 4th). Uh, sounds familiar...like, last January in Denver? It's clearly the flying elvis curse. Tom's won half as many SB's as he should have, because Kraft refused to undo Orthwein's treachery. Amazing the number of even non-Patriots fans who appreciate and prefer our real logo and uniforms. As of this moment, the Jets and Chiefs have won more Super Bowls wearing their real logos and uniforms than the Patriots. By the end of the night on February 5th, I would like for us to at least pull even with them; and this can in fact easily be made possible, faster than you can say, "CMGI Field" or faster than you can convert your lawn at home to FieldTurf:

27 JULY 2016 - FOXBOROUGH, MA-The New England Patriots open training camp tomorrow, and fans will be pleasantly surprised to see their team open the 2016 campaign sporting their old favorite, "Pat" Patriot logo on their helmets as they prepare for the first preseason game. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1976 Patriots, the team will wear those white helmets for every game in the 2016 season, along with jerseys sporting the purple stripe around the sleeves: red at home, and white on the road, along with white pants. Team owner Robert Kraft said, "I had no idea how many of our fans preferred the old logo. We lost as many fans over the last twenty-three years over this as we gained with all that expense and marketing of the flying elvis." One clue may come from a fan at the stadium ticket window yesterday, who said, "Oh, I would be too embarrassed to say anything right to Mr. Kraft's face about how repulsive that flying elvis is..." Sources say the team is offering to sell the image to the new football and/or hockey franchises in Las Vegas to lessen the expense of converting back to Pat Patriot; not only will the flying elvis provide instant recognition but it would, for the first time, be somewhat geographically appropriate there.

I will never forgive the offensive line. And I will take it to my grave that we were cheated out of that win with the clock stopping and the hold and sack on the play
It was McDaniels' dropping Brady back a million times, allowing the Giants to do the only thing they did well at all that season: rush the passer. So, Sunday night I did get to see the greatest basketball player of all time again...he was there, afterwards, standing ten feet to the right of the trophy presentation podium, in a beige jacket, with grey hair and grey beard now; and I didn't hear him say anything, but he was smiling as usual. His greatness is accurately reflected in statistics, but the number of trophies is not that great a measure of a player; but if you want to rate Mikan ahead of Lebron go ahead...George was in fact, a beast. The single bad thing for Cleveland winning the title is that they did so wearing all black boys' baby pajamas; Pats fans can relate to that...Cavs should have honored THEIR team of forty years ago, which donned classy cool uniforms when they challenged the Celts in the conference finals.

GSW should have utilized their bench, as they did in game 7 vs. OKC. Instead, they just ran out of gas.

I did that. Except I just repeated your second step four times.

Surely you mean closer to this amount?

I didn't drink back in 2007. But SB46 is a different story. I had a few mixies during the game, then proceeded to shots after the Welker drop. I actually don't remember much about that final Giants drive....just that catch and I feel like I had lost hope by then.

But as for 2007...time eases the pain. Continuing to put forth dominating performances helped (though they inevitably ended in disappointment). But I never felt "healed" as a Pats fan until SB49. That was a helluva feeling.

I will never care as much about sports as I did before that game. A little piece of my sports self died that day. 2014 helped a lot, but the wound will never fully heal.

The loss obviously sucks--big time. Even as fans, we all felt the pressure. We all saw it coming.

That said, it was 8+ years ago. It's simply time to move on. We've had a great run of success that continues to this day, and have recently won 4/6 SB matchups--all within 4 points of each other. That's not too shabby.

For me = time to buck up and move forward, but to each his own. ;)

Warriors fans will have to wonder what would have happened if the attendant had done a better job cleaning up the court in the opening series.

x

Malcolm Butler saved everyone. Brady's got that 4th ring. I don't think any future qb from here on out will get 4. I am satisfied with what this team has accomplished. 19-0 would have been the icing on the cake. All of Brady's super bowls were close games...he could have easily been 0-6. 4-2 is an awesome number.

Losing a Game 7 or SB sucks, but fans and team GMs need time to absorb the loss and not overreact to the situation. So many professional teams who fall one yard or one point short of a championship overreact during the offseason and think they need to sign sexy free agents. GSW is targeting Durant which on paper sounds great, but might screw up their flawless team chemistry. Durant is a great scorer, but I'm not sure he meshes well with GSW's passing system.

The Seahawks overreacted to their goal line gaffe of SB49 by going out and signing Jimmy Graham which made their team worse. Max Unger was a HUGE loss.

So much Stupidity in one Thread, starting with the Moron who wrote the Article this Thread is about.

In case noone's pointed it out ~ I couldn't finish the first Page ~ The Cubs have the all time best Record in a BaseBall Season, not the freaking Mariners. The Mariners tied'm for Wins, but lost 10 more Games.
